School District Receives Official IB MYP Authorization
Dobbs Ferry Middle School has been formally recognized as an International Baccalaureate World School, as part of the MYP partnership with Dobbs Ferry High School. The Middle Years Programme encompasses grades 6-10, and will help prepare students to tackle the advanced IB course offerings in 11th and 12th grade. At the heart of both programs is the IB Learner Profile, which defines “international-mindedness” and aligns to the District’s overall mission and vision… Independent Thinkers Prepared to Change the World. New Strategic Planning Process Underway
Superintendent Brady is again spearheading the development of a new Stragetic Plan for the District. The Strategic Plan Steering Committee is a "cross-role group" made up of 30 teachers, parents, students, BOE members and administrators. They will be working through June to "update" the current plan (2013-2017). In addition to the Steering Committee meetings, the District is hosting focus groups with teachers, staff, students, parents and the community to gather feedback to bring back to the Committee. The development of the current Strategic Plan was an intensive process undertaken in 2012 that included the creation of new mission and vision statements for the District. Thank you to our Strategic Planning Committee volunteers for their time and effort!

Middle School I&S Students Use Tech to Reinforce Learning Skills
Students in Jen Hickey and Claudia Ducic's 6th grade Individuals & Societies (Social Studies) classes are using their Chromebooks to reinforce MYP ATL (Approaches to Learning) skills. Students set a goal for themselves in 2017 and wrote down 2-3 steps they could follow to achieve their goal. They also created a motivational poster and made it the wallpaper for their Chromebooks. Great visual reminder will help them stay on track!
