Why Shamanism Now
FAQs - These are some of the questions that people have asked about this class.

I feel like I come from the heart. Why do I need this?
Perhaps you don't, but the helping spirits have shown us through the Cycle Teachings that we don't have "a heart", we have an unbelievable manifestation of energy, power, vision, wisdom, intelligence, and love that-once awakened-feels effectively like four hearts, each different and unique and working in synergy with the others.

I have traveled to be with shamans in other countries. My contemporary life is so different from theirs. How can ancient teachings about the heart possibly help me with love and life in our world?
We think our heart is our own, that our love is personal... and we suffer from isolation, depression, and alienation. Ancient shamanic people understood that our hearts belong to all that we love, human and nonhuman. And that their hearts, human and nonhuman, belong to us. However, with our broken and protected hearts we are actually not able to open to this greater interconnected reality of relationship with all things. We can understand it, we can imagine it and we can feel it when we are there, but we aren't living it day-to-day because our hearts need to heal from contemporary misunderstandings and expectations about love.

Sounds great, what are some journeys I could do to do this at home?
First off, given the weather in most of North America right now, why wouldn't you want to go to Tucson, especially with a nearly 50% discount?
But to answer the question: not everything we need to do to heal and transform is just an answer to a journey question. Shamanic Journeying is a blessing and a powerful tool, but it's linear: question to interpretation to answer to action. The human heart is not linear. It is a multi-dimensional thing that operates in different realms and follows its own crazy logic. Transformation of the heart requires shamanic processes. Shamanic processes involve not only journeys, but landscapes in cosmologies, challenges and quests given by Spirit (not your mind), rituals for transformation, and the added transformational power of working in aligned and intentional community-to name just a few.

I never follow through with the work I start at workshops and classes (...honestly, neither do I).
And that is why you will not be alone. Part One will end with creating smaller, focused accountability cohorts who agree to work together to support the transformations needed in all four chambers of the heart for all of their members.

Why does it need to be in two parts? It's a hassle.
Because the chambers must be awakened through elemental rituals. We each need time to prepare our power objects and our hearts to engage in those rituals so that they can effectively take us beyond where we can go ourselves.
