Timekeeping software

Accurately tracking time spent on behalf of a client is essential for any lawyer. It is necessary for accurate billing, determining profitability and monitoring efficiency. Stephen L. Pettler Jr. of the VBA’s Special Committee on Small Firm and Solo Practice reviews the questions you should ask before investing in a system and identifies a number of platforms that work well for smaller firms. "Timekeeping Software" will be publicly available for one month. (VBA PMA)

Articles in the VBA Practice Management Advisor library generally are accessible to VBA members only, although VBA Articles and Useful Links remain publicly available year-round. Join the VBA now for 2024 and get member benefits for the rest of 2023 at no additional cost.

Find this month's article and more under Additional Resources, then Peer-to-Peer Resources on the main PMA pages. VBA members can find additional articles about time, billing and accounting on the Open a Firm page and under Manage a Firm in the Money section.
