2023 Session Breakdown

This one is short-er, but there was a lot to unpack!

Welcome to the Chamber!

Welcome to Lakeville!

Last week we welcomed one of the newest Lakeville businesses to our great city - The Bubble Barn Car Wash! Through June 11th, stop by the Lakeville Bubble Barn Car Wash to get a free VIP wash ($21 value) with canned good donation for The Open Door Pantry. The Bubble Barn will also be running specials on their Unlimited Carwash Membership. Stop by and check it out!

Do you have the Fear of Missing Out?

No worries! We have got you covered! There is ALWAYS something to do, somewhere to go, and someone to meet here in Lakeville! If you want more information on any of these events and experiences, reach out to us here at the Chamber office!

FRIDAY, 8am, Zoom

This Friday we will hear from Paul Jacobus with the Lakeville Lions and Pan-O-Prog. Paul will be taking us behind the scenes on logistics, why we do this festival, and what it means to all of us in the community.

And, as always, we will do an around the horn update with our local leaders and legislators. If you would like to join the meeting, email me for the zoom link.

The monthly Access & Issues meeting is the 2nd Friday of each month and is open to all members and you are welcome to listen (camera on or off!) or participate with questions for our leaders.

If you would like committee chair, Phil Raines, to add you to his monthly reminder email, including zoom link, please email me and I will connect you!

Legislation Update

The Minnesota Legislature passed the adult-use cannabis bill this session, legalizing the use, possession, and sale of cannabis in Minnesota. The possession and personal growing of cannabis will become legal August 1, 2023, and retail, agricultural, and manufacturing cannabis businesses will likely become licensed in early 2025. Hello summer!

From the top:

...I call it "selective" participation.

I am running out of jokes, so I am doing a contest! Send me your best (clean) joke for a chance to win 4 Twins tickets (July 25, 6:40, v. Seattle – section 112, row 9, seats 8-11). One entry for every joke I receive. Entries due by Friday, June 23. Drawing held Monday, June 26 at 10am. Thank you to Dick’s Sanitation for the Twins ticket donation!
