In the previous e-news, the last day of school was listed incorrectly. As of today, the last day of school for this school year will be Monday, June 3, for students and Tuesday, June 4, for teachers.

The calendar for the 2024-2025 school year will be approved by the Board of Education at the April 8 meeting. The first day of school, allowed by Iowa Code, is scheduled for August 23, 2024.

REMINDER - There will be NO SCHOOL for all students (PK-12) on Friday, April 19. This was initially a half day of school, but will now be a day of no school. This will allow our staff to have professional development time with Lynn Lyons who is presenting a free community event the evening before.

Congrats to Bristol Miller, Holmes Junior High student, on winning the “If I Were Mayor” essay contest in District 2! Bristol, her family and her teacher, Alaine Steger, attended the ceremony and toured the capital building!

In March, Simpson College hosted the Iowa Men’s Gymnastics State meet. Joseph Winland, CFHS sophomore, won 1st place All Around for Level 8, ages 15 & up. His teammate Kintu Beck won 3rd place All Around. They competed in all events: Vault, Floor, High Bar, Pommel Horse, Parallel Bars, Rings

Congratulations to Joel VerDught, Hansen Elementary 4th grader, on winning 1st place at the Iowa Knights of Columbus State spelling bee competition!

CFHS senior, Maddie Gallagher, was recognized with a Good Citizen Award by the Cedar Falls Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution! Maddie was nominated for the award by Jeremiah Longnecker. In addition, she received a $400 scholarship based on a timed essay. She will now be entered into State and National competitions.

Second Round of the @CF_HighSchool Division Street 1954 to 2024 gear! All proceeds benefit the CFHS student activity account!
