JCSD Graduate Returns as Guest Speaker

Irvin Espinoza RHHS Class of 2019 Visits as Guest Speaker from Embry‑Riddle Aeronautical University Class of 2024.

Irvin Espinoza, a high-performing student from Ridgeland, South Carolina, and a graduate of Ridgeland-Hardeeville High School, was honored as one of the inaugural Boeing Scholars at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. This prestigious scholarship program was established to expand and diversify the aviation workforce by supporting students pursuing degrees in aviation science, aircraft maintenance, and related fields at Embry-Riddle, a world-renowned institution in aviation and aerospace 1.

The Boeing scholarships, supported by a $3 million endowment from Boeing, aim to increase the representation of women, underrepresented minorities, and military veterans and their dependents at the university. Irvin Espinoza, along with other deserving scholars, will receive annual scholarships ranging from $5,000 to $7,500 for two years. These scholarships recognize academic achievements and also address the critical need for aerospace talent in the industry 1.

Embry-Riddle’s partnership with Boeing underscores the importance of fostering diversity and providing opportunities for talented individuals like Irvin to pursue higher education and contribute to aviation. Congratulations to Irvin Espinoza and the entire cohort of Boeing Scholars!

Saturday Academy Photos (Saturday April 13, 2024)

Saturday Academy is a fantastic opportunity for our students to come and receive small group instruction via a targeted academic approach. This is also an opportunity for students in Grades 3rd through 8th and students who are enrolled in End of Course Assessments. The goal is to ensure that students whose academic data is below grade level have an opportunity to improve academically and avoid possible grade-level retention.

Wear Blue Day

April is Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Awareness Month

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month and it highlights the importance of communities and families working together to prevent child abuse and neglect. Wear Blue Day is an event that raises awareness about this issue. The faculty of JCSD marked this day by wearing blue, to show the students that they are supported and cared for. We believe that every student has the right to feel safe and protected. Jasper County School District is committed to putting students at the center of everything we do and to prepare them for a bright future.
