Infrastructure Updates

  • Read about the APPROVED ordinance changes to address high water bill issues here.
  • City Council voted to remove the financial burden from residents who apply for City of Houston's Street Lighting Program. Previously, residents would pay about $200 to cover the first year’s operating costs for the streetlight installation; now it will be free.
  • Due to a technical delay with Texas State law, the 53 new street trees to be planted along Parker Rd. between Airline and Clark should be planted next week.

Affordable Housing Season for Developers

January kicks off the annual Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs affordable housing 9% Tax Credit Program. This program allows housing developers to bring affordable developments into eligible neighborhoods. Developers should reach out to civic groups and council offices with plans. More info here.

BARC: Empty The Shelters Means Free Adoptions
