Keep Reporting Leaks!

Please call 311 again to report if a leak worsens. Please continue to report new water leaks and sewage leaks as you see them. The intense heat and drought dried up the soil causing water and sewage lines to shift and leak. Cities across Texas are experiencing an increase in pipes breaking.

2100 Memorial Housing Project Update

Houston Housing Authority encourages former residents to stay tuned and monitor their website. As the completion of the project approaches, Houston Housing Authority will provide details of the opening of the waitlist. The building is projected to be completed in the first quarter of 2024 and is currently 63% complete with construction.

Pool Schedule Extended

Extended Pool Schedule

Two City of Houston pools, TC Jester Park Pool (4205 T.C. Jester) and Emancipation Park Pool (3018 Emancipation), will remain open on weekends through the end of October, or sooner if water temperature drops below 72 degrees. These pools were the highest attended in the northern and southern regions. 

Feeding the Unhoused

Join the nonprofit Challenge "U" and the Ryon Civic Association to help feed the unhoused residents of Houston.

FREE: English as a Second Language (ESL) Classes

Harris County Department of Education, Adult Education, is offering FREE ESL classes for adults--both virtual and in-person classes. Students must commit to attending all classes. Urban Harvest Mobile Farmers Markets

Urban Harvest's Mobile Farmers Market is coming to your neighborhood. Everything is sourced from local farms and producers and sold at cost. The Mobile Markets are Double Up Food Bucks sites, so customers with their EBT/Lone Star card receive a free dollar of produce for every EBT dollar spent.

Woodland Park Needs You: Vote Daily!

Woodland Park is a finalist for a $75,000 "Perk You Park" grant to do park renovation to plant native flora and trees. but Woodland Park is currently trailing by 1200 votes in the race to win a $75,000 grant for vital nature restoration effort. Please vote here, daily through next Monday, September 18th!

HPD: Public Comment Requested

The Houston Police Department is asking for the public to comment on its application to the U.S. Department of Justice for a grant to provide eight civilian support personnel. HPD is applying jointly with the Harris County Sheriff's Office. For more info on the grant click here. Send comments to grants@houstonpolice.org by Thurs, Oct.13th.
