THANK YOU To All Our Educators

THANK YOU to all of our D64 teachers and educators for all you do. It's been easy celebrating such a great group this Educator Appreciation Week. The time and effort they give to making sure our students have what they need is nothing short of extraordinary. This week was also National School Nurse Day! School Nurses care for the entire school population, especially the most vulnerable, playing an essential role in keeping all students in school healthy, safe, and ready to learn. Thank you!

Outstanding Music Educators Award

District 64 continues to build upon its excellence in music education. Our very own Erica Faulhaber and Ilona Hutter were named winners of the prestigious Chicagoland Outstanding Music Educator Award. Congratulations!

Only four middle school educators were selected for this award; two came from here in D64. Faulhaber is an Instrumental Music Curriculum Specialist/Department Chair and Orchestra Teacher at Emerson, Field, Franklin, Carpenter. Hutter is a Band Teacher at Lincoln, Roosevelt, and Washington.

“They are tireless advocates for the fine arts and excellence in education, and we could not be more proud of them!” said Superintendent Dr. Ben Collins.

Music In The Parks

Let’s give all our student musicians a big applause for an excellent showing at the recent Music in the Parks Festival. Our D64 groups earned 1st place in their respective divisions, making it a District 64 sweep!

Congratulations to the D64 Concert Band, D64 Symphonic Band, D64 Concert Orchestra, D64 Philharmonic Orchestra, Emerson Show Choir, Lincoln Show Choir, and the D64 Honors Chorus, which performed and competed at Warren Township High School on May 4th.
