Last Day Of School Is Set

The school year is flying by! For those planning trips or summer fun, we shared notes regarding the last day of school earlier this week.

The last day of classes for District 64 students is Thursday, June 6th, and it is a full day of school. Friday, June 7th, is now a records/planning day for staff only.

The final day of classes for our elementary and middle school students is Thursday, June 6th, because we only used some of our emergency days for potential winter weather-related school closings. Wednesday, June 5th, is the last day for preschoolers, and it is an early release day.

  • Wednesday, June 5th - Last day of school for Jefferson
  • Thursday, June 6th - Last day of classes for students (K-8)
  • Friday, June 7th - Records/planning day for staff only

8th Graders Thrilled With VR Learning

The new D64 VR headsets are a big hit at Lincoln!

8th-grade students worked through Cold War stations highlighting events like the Bay of Pigs, the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Berlin Wall, the story of Emmett Till, the Space Race, and the assassination of JFK. The VR technology takes you right to the scene of some of these historic events!

The Arts At Roosevelt

As the weather is getting warmer, it's a great time to grab some ice cream and enjoy some art from our D64 students! Roosevelt's artists put together a gallery that is now on display at Triple Scoop'd Ice Cream. Their gallery will be up until May 21st!

The Roosevelt Combined Elementary School Choir performed at the Park Ridge Public Library this week as part of the library's Dia Cultural Celebration. It was an awesome and uplifting performance!

Dia is a nationally recognized initiative that emphasizes the importance of literacy for all children from all backgrounds.
