Field Day Fun

The sun has been shining, and the sound of laughter and cheering has temporarily drowned out the loud hum of the cicadas. That could only mean one thing: Field Day! Schools started hosting these highly anticipated end-of-the-year events this week.

Students compete in various activities, and there is no shortage of fun and excitement.

Thank you to our wonderful PTAs/PTOs, who make these awesome events possible, and to our teachers, who work hard to ensure the days go smoothly! The rest of our elementary schools have their Field Days next week.

Roosevelt Field Day

What did Field Day look like for the Tigers? There was a tug-of-war, egg-and-spoon race, sack race, cone flip relay, tire flip relay, inflatable obstacle course, Gaga ball, and tic-tac-toe!

Washington Field Day

You might notice some costumes at Washington, but it's not Halloween. Students dressed up as part of their teams, which included Toy Story, the Incredibles, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Lilo & Stitch. There was no disguising the fun as students played at these stations: can jam, scooter races, hop ball, ball toss, cone flip relay, speed stacks, target toss, chopsticks, popcorn, egg and spoon, and push ball.

Team D64 At The Memorial Day Parade

A special shoutout to the families who walked with us in the Park Ridge Memorial Day Parade. It was a wonderful day spent with the community as we honored and remembered all of the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. Military.
