Dear District 6 Residents,


The City of Pasadena and the Rose Bowl Stadium regret to inform guests of the cancellation of the Egg Bowl and Bunny Brunch events scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, March 30, due to the forecast of heavy rain. While we understand the disappointment this may cause, we must prioritize the safety and well-being of all the event attendees, participants, and staff involved. We apologize for any inconvenience this cancellation may cause. We appreciate your understanding. Guests who purchased tickets to the Bunny Brunch and VIP Egg Hunt will be issued a refund from Eventbrite within the next 72 hours via the original payment method used to purchase the tickets. Instead, everyone is invited to “Hop into Spring” at the Rose Bowl this Tuesday, April 2, from 3-6 p.m. for an Open House, mini egg hunt on the field, and photo opportunity with the Easter Bunny. All guests must register in advance by clicking here.

Pasadena Police Department Holding DUI/Driver’s License Checkpoint 3/29

Today, Friday, March 29, the Pasadena Police Department will conduct a driving under the influence (DUI)/Driver’s License Checkpoint at an undisclosed location within Pasadena city limits. Click here for more information. Source: Pasadena Police Department.

Planned Power Outages 4/2-3 and 4/3-4

Please be aware that there will be Planned Power Outages conducted on Tuesday, April 2, into Wednesday, April 3, and on Wednesday, April 3, into Thursday, April 4, by Pasadena Water and Power. Certain addresses within District 6 will be affected. The outage is expected to last from 11 p.m.-5:30 a.m. and 10:30 p.m.-5 a.m., respectively. Click here and here for more information. Construction Notice: Full Closure of Glenullen Dr. Between Ave. 64 & Sequoia Dr. Through 4/3

Due to road construction, there will be a full street closure on Glenullen Dr. between Ave. 64 and Sequoia Dr. through Wednesday, April 3. Dates are subject to change. Water Main Installation on Bellefontaine Dr. Starting 4/8

Pasadena Water and Power will install 1,382’ of water main on Bellefontaine St. from Pasadena Ave. to Fair Oaks Ave. Construction will start Monday, April 8, and is expected to be completed in July 2024. Please be advised that there may be a slight traffic delay when accessing Fairmount Ave. and Bellefontaine St. Sporadic and temporary lane closure will happen during work hours of Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Click here for more information. E-Waste & Paper Shredding Event 4/13

The next E-Waste and Paper Shredding Event will be held from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, in the Rose Bowl’s Parking Lot I. Come and recycle your obsolete electronics. Notice of Public Hearing for Proposed Street Name Change 4/15

The City of Pasadena proposes to change Dayton St. between Fair Oaks Ave. and Raymond Ave. to “Troop Way,” as one of two options. The other option is Morton Ave. from Hammond St. to Mountain St. The City Council will hold a public hearing on the proposed street name change on Monday, April 15, at 5:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall. Any interested party or their representative may appear at the hearing and comment on the project. Written comments may also be mailed to the Department of Public Works by April 5. ArtCenter Grad Show Preview Events 4/17, 4/18, & 4/25

Be the first to engage with the next generation of ArtCenter creative talent. Meet the Spring 2024 graduates and experience their inspiring work both in person and online at Grad Show Preview. Virtual presentations will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on April 17-18, and the evening celebration will be held from 7-10 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, at the Pasadena Convention Center. San Rafael Elementary Beautification Day 4/20

3rd Annual Rosé Bowl 4/20

The Rose Bowl Stadium announced that the third annual Rosé Bowl presented by JNSQ will be gracing the beautifully manicured grass of the iconic Rose Bowl Stadium field on Saturday, April 20. Guests will enjoy unlimited pours of carefully curated rosés from 3-7 p.m. (VIP entrance begins one hour earlier at 2 p.m.). The Rosé Bowl is a wine festival featuring a selection of over 40 rosés including favorites JNSQ, Archer Roose, and many more. The festival will also include curated restaurants and vendors. Caltrans to Host Public Hearing on Making Emergency 710 Sales Regulations Permanent 4/26, Public Comment Period Ends 4/24

Caltrans has begun the rulemaking process to permanently adopt the emergency 710 house sales regulations, which are currently in effect and expire on September 30. The proposed regulations outline how surplus properties along State Route 710 will be sold pursuant to state law. Caltrans is requesting the public’s input as it adopts permanent regulations to sell surplus properties in the cities of Pasadena, Los Angeles, and South Pasadena. The 45-day public comment period ends on Wednesday, April 24. Anyone who wants to comment on the proposed regulations during this period may submit written comments by email to: Carolyn.Dabney@dot.ca.gov. Caltrans will host a public hearing on Friday, April 26, from 5 to 8 p.m. at South Pasadena High School to provide the opportunity for the public to comment on the proposed regulations. After the end of the public comment period, Caltrans will submit final regulations to the Office of Administrative Law for approval later this summer. Many current residential tenants have received a Notice of Solicitation from Caltrans for an opportunity to purchase the homes they are renting. Click here for more information. Source: Caltrans.

3rd Annual Cinco de Mayo at the Rose Bowl 5/4

The 3rd annual Cinco de Mayo at the Rose Bowl will return on Saturday, May 4. The free family friendly event will be an opportunity for the community to come together and enjoy Pasadena’s rich Latino culture and traditions through music, sports, art, and film. Cruel World Music Festival at the Rose Bowl 5/11

Goldenvoice announced the return of the Cruel World Music Festival taking place Saturday, May 11, at Brookside at the Rose Bowl, featuring a headline performance by Duran Duran and performances from Interpol, Blondie, Simple Minds, Placebo, Soft Cell, Adam Ant, Ministry, Gary Numan, DREAMCAR, and more. Just Like Heaven Music Festival at the Rose Bowl 5/18

Goldenvoice announced the 2024 lineup for the fourth annual Just Like Heaven music festival at Brookside at the Rose Bowl on Saturday, May 18. The one-day event will feature performances by The Postal Service, Death Cab for Cutie, Phoenix, The War on Drugs, Miike Snow, Passion Pit, Alvvays, Two Door Cinema Club, Phantogram, Metric, Gossip, Tegan and Sara, Washed Out, and many more. 4th of July at the Rose Bowl Returns with Soccer, Fireworks, & Family Fun 7/4

Cross-town rivals LA Galaxy and LAFC will return with a world-class soccer match to the Rose Bowl on Thursday, July 4. Books N' Cops Series Through 10/28

The Pasadena Library and the Pasadena Police Department are hosting a 10-month long, multi-event program series called “Books N' Cops.” The series brings together various divisions and representatives from Pasadena Police Department to a different Pasadena library branch through Monday, October 28. Throughout the series, community members can learn specifics about policing, meet officers, and connect with law enforcement. Community members of all ages are invited to attend, learn, play, and discover together. All events are free, and most do not require registration. Paramedic Subscription Program

In an effort to curb the high cost of ambulance transport service, the Pasadena Fire Department offers a Paramedic Subscription Program for only $89 a year. The program provides unlimited access to Pasadena Fire’s emergency medical system for Pasadena residents and those in their households, whether they have health insurance or not. 988 Can Save a Life

Sycamores and the LA County Department of Mental Health have partnered with the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline to provide in-person emergency mental health services for individuals who are experiencing a mental health crisis, via Mobile Crisis Outreach Teams. While 911 is traditionally the number people think to contact in an emergency, 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (dial 988) is an alternative number to call that’s designed specifically for crises related to mental health. Help is available 24/7 over the phone, allowing callers to speak with trained counselors who will assess the situation. Click here to read more. Source: Sycamores.

Next time you spot graffiti in your neighborhood, hit a pothole on your way to work, or notice an abandoned shopping cart on your street, just use the City Service Center to report it. Simply open the CSC app, website, or make a call to report an issue. Your issue will be automatically routed to the appropriate department for investigation.
