Hello, District 27 Toastmasters!
Welcome to the new Toastmasters year! It is my honor and privilege to re-introduce myself as your District Director for 2024-2025. Serving this outstanding District and working alongside esteemed members like you is truly a humbling experience.
As a member of the District Trio, I am fully committed to enhancing the member experience, driving achievement and ensuring continuous progress toward excellence. Our mission is clear: to expand new clubs and provide unwavering support to all clubs in their pursuit of excellence. Achieving this mission requires the dedication and effort of every member. Together, we will push boundaries, embrace challenges, and work diligently to earn the Distinguished District designation in 2025.
I pledge to foster an environment where we can all grow and become the best versions of ourselves. In a win/win environment, everyone achieves more through collective growth and development. While there is much to accomplish, I believe that by working together with passion and determination we can achieve remarkable things. Our focus will be on increasing new clubs and members, pathway enrollments and educational achievements.
I eagerly anticipate collaborating with you to engage, empower and elevate our district. I stand by you as a dedicated servant and teammate.
Here's to a year of success and growth!

District 27 Toastmasters!
Welcome District 27 members to the start of the Toastmaster year 2024-2025! Thank you for electing me as the District 27 Program Quality Director (PQD) for this year. As your PQD, I am soliciting your suggestions for those educational sessions that are pertinent to you. I also need to enlist your help to make this a successful year for all members.
As the District Officer tasked with the education of all our district members we need your help.
A renewed passion and involvement in the Pathways Education Program. The goal is for 100% of club officers to be enrolled in and working in the Pathways Education Program. We also need 99% of all members enrolled in and working in the program. The 1% not yet enrolled is for the fluctuation between the time that members join and the time they enroll in the program after becoming a member.
A challenge to all clubs, to have four (4) Education Goals completed by December 31. There is a difference between achieving Education Awards and Education Goals. All members need to hit the ground running and take advantage of the benefits of the Pathways program. The program allows us to step outside of our comfort zone, promotes growth and self-confidence, members to earn a Triple Crown Award, and receive a pin at the District Conference when they earn 3 or more awards in the Toastmaster year; aim to complete your Triple Crown Award before March.
District 27, as Henry Ford said: If we all move forward together, then success takes care of itself. Let’s Move Forward Together District 27!
Yours in Service,
Beverly Byam Hercules, DTM

The Mission of a Toastmasters District is to "Build new clubs and support all clubs in achieving excellence." We build new clubs so that more members can experience the benefits that Toastmasters offers -- growth in communication skills, leadership experience, and confidence. If you work or belong to an organization that lacks a Toastmasters club and you think there may be interest, the Club Growth Team can help you start a club. If you were part of a Toastmasters club that folded during the pandemic and you think there may be enough interest to bring it back, the Club Growth Team can help you.
The second part of the mission is to support all clubs in achieving excellence. A major part of that is having a healthy club membership. The Club Growth Team is here to provide tools for growing your membership. If your club has 12 or fewer members, it is eligible for a coach. Our team will be investing in the Club Coach Program and may be able to provide you with a coach.
Let's make this year successful for District 27, for your club, and above all, for you!
Jenny Genser White
Club Growth Director
PS. A note about the Alighment for 2024-2025
District 27 moved from Region 7 to Region 6 on July 1. To effectively serve members, Toastmasters needs to balance the number of paid clubs per region so that clubs and members are equally represented in the Board of Directors. Because of the rapid growth of Toastmasters in Europe, Asia, and Africa, the number of Regions in the Americas will fall from nine to seven and the number of regions in the rest of the world will grow from five to seven. That is why District 27 is now in Region 6.
Within District 27, there were a few small changes in the alignment. Most importantly, Division E now consists of four Areas rather than five, to be consistent with the other Divisions, which all have three or four Areas. CGD

As we begin the new Toastmaster year, let us promise ourselves and our members to have a renewed vigor and interest in working on the Pathways Education Experience. Our goal as a District is to have 100 percent of our club officers enrolled in and working on the program.
For our courageous club officers, those who have stepped up to lead this year, my challenge to you is to have all seven (7) club officers trained in the Club Officer / Toastmasters Leadership Institute training sessions.
-
Summer training begin in June and end in August (see the list below).
-
Winter training begin in November and end in February.
Please make every effort to attend this training. Statistics show that clubs with all 7 officers trained will have a better outcome for their members and the club.
Pathways is a great program that helps us to develop our communication and leadership skills, the promise of the Toastmasters brand.
-
LEVEL 1-2-3 in any path allow us to develop our communication skills.
-
LEVEL 4-5 projects allow us to sharpen and hone our leadership skills.
If you have been shying away from the Pathways program, I challenge you to take the plunge, get comfortable with being uncomfortable, then stand back and admire your growth and development. The resource page of a project would also provide you with the steps, forms, and other information that you need to complete the project.
Let us set ourselves up for success by having each of our clubs complete 4 Education Awards by December 31, 2024.
Please do not hesitate to reach out if you or your club needs assistance with the Pathways Education Program.

Embracing new goals and new experiences can be daunting, but it's also an opportunity for personal growth and self-discovery. The fear of the unknown or what may lay ahead of you can be overwhelming, but don't let it. Open your arms to the future and all that it has to offer. Good or bad. Big or small. The longer we stay stagnant and comfortable, the longer we continue to just "get by" instead of truly living. Just simply "getting by" leaves no room for error and growth. Allow yourself to think larger and to desire more.
Take a moment to reflect. Every lesson you've learned, every new opportunity presented in front of you, or every new bond or friendship you've built, could it have been accomplished if you didn't take a risk? I'm sure the answer is, "no". Life is a journey and you never know what can happen next, but Toastmasters is here to guide you and encourage you to push to further heights. To allow yourself to examine and write down those new goals. Set a higher standard for yourself. Shock yourself, shock the world.
Start this new month with a new mindset. Do not shrink yourself to the likings of others and do what you feel in your mind! Allowing yourself to embrace those new experiences will allow you to discover a hidden part of yourself. Believe in your capabilities. You are more than capable of accomplishing anything you set your mind to.
Toastmasters encourages you to not allow your present circumstances to define your future. Do not allow past failures to hold you back from experiencing future wins. S-t-e-p into this new month with boldness, confidence, and openness. You never know where it can take you!
