District 25 and supporters,
National News Update:
Democrats, the momentum is on our side! Recent polls show Vice President Kamala Harris gaining ground against former President Donald Trump. This encouraging trend highlights the critical importance of our engagement and turnout in the upcoming November elections. As we continue to fight for our democracy, your vote matters more than ever. Record turnout at the national, state, and local levels will be key to ensuring that our values and vision for a better America prevail.
Upstate Interfaith Coalition for African American Policy (UICAAP) Updates
We are thrilled to report a successful rollout of the Upstate Interfaith Coalition for African American Policy (UICAAP) in Greenville County. The community's enthusiastic reception underscores the importance of our mission. Next, we are excited to announce the rollout for Anderson County, scheduled for August 24th at Pastor Johnny Sellers' Evergreen Baptist Church. Stay tuned for more details as we continue to expand our reach and impact.
Introducing the Next Up Program
As part of UICAAP's grassroots efforts, we are proud to introduce our Next Up program. I have completed the curriculum and we are targeting October to launch our first cohort. Next Up is a comprehensive, seven-class program designed to equip the next generation of community leaders with the skills and knowledge needed to make a significant impact in politics, economic development, and community organization.
Through interactive discussions, case studies, and hands-on activities, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the complex issues affecting our communities. Our goal is to build a robust bench of well-equipped individuals who are vetted and supported by our communities, ready to drive positive change.
Community Highlight
Congratulations to the Gatewood family on the renaming of the Mt. Pleasant Community Center in honor of the late Pastor Furman Gatewood, Sr. This recognition acknowledges his many years of dedicated service to Mt. Pleasant Community Center and his unwavering love for District 25. Pastor Gatewood's legacy of commitment to our community will continue to inspire us all.
Call to Action
As we approach the critical general election this fall, I need your support more than ever. We are calling for volunteers to help canvass our communities and ensure every voice is heard. Additionally, your financial contributions are crucial to sustaining our campaign efforts. Please contact us at info@wendellkjones.com to volunteer or donate.
Together, we can make a difference. Let's continue to work towards a brighter future for District 25 and beyond.
In service,
