Annual Memorial Gift to PBC Honors Former Mental Health Counselor | |
Thank you to Jani Bedrick, who recently made a gift to Pro Bono Counseling (PBC) in memory of her sister, Miffi Bedrick (shown here), a mental health counselor who passed away in 2016.
Miffi was originally from Massachusetts, before moving to Montgomery County, Maryland. She worked as an elementary school counselor in Prince George’s County and also had a private practice.
"Miffi was committed to her work and loved by the children she helped," stated Jani. "She was a beautiful person, and was very generous and giving."
Jani donates to PBC every year in Miffi's memory, designating the gift to ensure children can receive mental health counseling and resources.

PBC Resource Corner: Maryland Health Benefit Exchange |
August is recognized as National Immunization Month, bringing attention to the importance of routine vaccination for people of all ages. As students are returning to classrooms over the next few weeks, Maryland requires their immunization records to be up to date. Maryland Health Benefit Exchange (MHBE) highlights their Connector Program that works with counties across the state to ensure students in need can access essential vaccinations through on-site vaccination clinics.
MHBE, on behalf of Maryland Health Connection, also provides free in-person assistance with health coverage, education, eligibility, and enrollment for Marylanders. This organization works with the local county to remove structural barriers, such as lack of transportation, that prevent those from receiving health care.
For more information, visit their website or call (410) 500-4710 or contact the Connector Program Manager, Trina Middleton at trina.middleton@maryland.gov.
