"The 2015 Macon Uchizy les Maranches has a clean and precise bouquet, quite chalky and well defined, a more neutral take on Mâcon that expresses more of the terroir rather than fruit. The palate is fresh on the entry with crisp acidity, not quite as detailed as I was expecting after the aromatics but with satisfying weight on the spicy, quite sappy finish."

"The 2015 Macon Chardonnay Clos de la Crochette has an enticing bouquet with hints of almond and walnut infusing the citrus fruit, nicely defined with good lift, quite generous compared to others. The palate is well balanced, a little more rounded in texture, with fresh citrus lemon and lime on the entry, It comes across as being quite saline toward the finish that feels lilting and nonchalant, so I recommend enjoying this over the next six or seven years."

"The 2015 Macon Milly Lamartine Clos du Four has a very keen and precise bouquet, hints of yellow flower complementing the citrus fruit, direct and focused, perhaps more conservative than the domaine's other 2015s. The palate is crisp and fresh, more expressive than the regular Macon Milly Lamartine at the moment, with touches of orange zest and spice (ginger) on the finish. Dominique Lafon did not produce a better Mâconnais wine in this vintage-this is just a fabulous wine that is going to be difficult to resist in its youth."

This too offers good quality for St. Véran."

"The reduction displayed by some of the prior wines is also present here and in this case it's prominent enough to warrant a thorough aeration. On the plus side there is very good precision and underlying tension to the delicious and energetic middle weight flavors that are shaped by citrus-tinged acidity on the very dry and moderately firm finale. While this should certainly reward a few years of bottle age it is sufficiently forward that it could be enjoyed young."

In 1999 the Lafon family of Meursault bought a small, 14 hectare, Domaine in the Mâconnais at Milly-Lamartine and renamed it Les Héritiers du Comte Lafon with additional vineyards being added in 2003 and 2010. The winemaking operation is based in Milly-Lamartine and the wines are made by the very talented, Caroline Gon under the watchful eye of Dominique Lafon, who is widely considered to be one of the greatest winemakers in France today. Dominique has long believed in the potential of the region and feels that not enough other winemakers are striving to produce as fine as product as possible in this picturesque region. This pioneering spirit means that Dominique runs this estate along the same lines of its more famous sibling in Meursault. Biodynamic viticulture, intense soil rejuvenation, and lots of hard work in the vines that includes tight yield controls and extensive green harvesting. The wines are mostly vinified in stainless steel vats with the balance occurring in large wooden foudres. The end result is that this estate produces some of the most complex, vibrant and impressively concentrated wines the region has ever seen.
