The responsibilities and roles of pastors today are far broader and more complex than they were only a generation ago. In addition to preaching and discipleship, pastors are often asked to lead resource development, personnel management, strategic planning, church communications and other administrative responsibilities.
The Practical Church Leadership Program is designed to equip pastors to meet the demands of these expanding administrative expectations.
Foundation scholarships for this one-year program are available to Louisiana United Methodist clergy who currently serve as pastors or associate pastors. Most coursework is online, but participants must travel to three in-person meetings.
The Foundation's financial commitment to each selected clergy is approximately $10,000. This includes full tuition and travel expenses, such as transportation, hotel and meals for the three in-person meetings.
The next cohort begins in July 2024.
