Mayor's Message

Spring is officially here! I know we are all excited to welcome it! It’s not too early to start planning for both our spring and summer activities. In Lucan Biddulph, there will be much going on! I encourage everyone to get out and about and enjoy what the season has to offer.

April 22, 2023 is Earth Day! This is an annual celebration that honors the achievements of the environmental movement and raises awareness of the need to protect Earths natural resources for future generations. The Township of Lucan Biddulph along with the Scouts & Guides, will be participating in our Annual Pitch-In Day, so watch out for them walking along your street and parks doing their part to keep our Township clean. This is a great opportunity to look around your home/business, your street and your community to see how you can participate. You can be a part of Earth Day by cleaning up your neighborhood, swap out your kitchen and household products to eco-friendly items, plant a tree, reduce, reuse, recycle in the garden, avoid using pesticides and chemicals as well as conserve water!

It is not too early to mark your calendars for events that the Township is in the planning stages of. Look for details to be released on our signatures events including our Movie Nights in the Park, Canada Day festivities and Summerfest on July 22, 2023. I would encourage everyone to get involved and take in as many of these events as possible. In the meantime, to see everything that’s on the go make sure you regularly check our Discover Lucan Biddulph Facebook Page or the Township’s website. We hope you received your 2023 Community Guide for Lucan Biddulph in the mail or picked one up, if not, the Guide is available on our website. This Guide is a great source of information on programming, local organizations, upcoming events, important contact information for the Township and services

On behalf of Council and Staff I would like to encourage you to get out and enjoy the long awaited spring and start planning for a fun and enjoyable summer season in Lucan Biddulph.

Mayor Cathy Burghardt-Jesson

Lucan Biddulph Yard Waste Depots

Yard Waste Bins will be returning on April 6th

Locations: Public Works Yard Saintsbury/Fallon & Granton Park.

This includes clean yard waste including grass, leaves, small brush (less than 6” diameter) and garden trimmings.

**Place brush on pavement and NOT in containers**

Bluewater Recycling Wishcycling

Wishcycling or aspirational recycling, happens when you put something in the recycling bin without knowing if it's actually recyclable. 59% of people believe that most items can be recycled (which simply isn't true), which means over half of people are wishcycling regularly.
