Dear Colleagues,
We wanted to remind you that Idaho State Universit will discontinue utilizing Watermark’s Faculty Success enterprise program (previously known as Activity Insight) as of August 31, 2022. The decision comes after months of discussions amongst Academic Affairs, Deans, Faculty Senate representatives, Human Resources, and faculty members. The rationale for non-renewal includes:

Faculty Satisfaction - Based on feedback received from faculty, we found the Faculty Success platform to be cumbersome and time consuming for faculty to use.

Need - A primary reason for purchasing the software was to collect faculty data for external accreditation and state report metrics. These organizations have shifted their focus to student learning and student success metrics that are collected from our Banner ERP system.

Cost -- The annual contract cost and the time for ISU staff to administer the platform was significant each year.
How will the faculty evaluation process change as a result? Faculty will now utilize a Microsoft Word template for their annual evaluation which can be found on the Academic Affairs website. If you need data for the “Summary of Teaching for Calendar Year" contact your department or college administrative assistant for this data.
All of the college and department level Administrative and Management Assistants have been trained on how to support faculty with this change. We will also be providing this same level of training for department chairs.
