is providing press and resources to help raise awareness and offer aid for those impacted by Hurricane Maria. Millions in Puerto Rico are still without power, communications networks, running water and fuel following Hurricane Maria, which hit the island on Sept. 20. Information about the

The Very Rev. Katherine Doyle to serve as acting coordinator
The bishop is pleased to announce the Very Rev. Katherine Doyle will serve as Acting Coordinator for Youth & Young Adult Ministries through Summer Camp 2018. This part-time position oversees youth programming and events, the youth council, and is the liaison to Province IV and the Episcopal Church. Read more here.

Bishop White joins 125 bishops in support of 'DACA'
Bishop White joined with more than
125
bishops
of the Episcopal Church to publish a full-page letter in the New York Times. The letter encouraged the President and Congress against ending the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, known as DACA:
"We urge you to enact permanent, meaningful legislation that will protect 'Dreamers' and enable these young people to remain a part of our country-which is also theirs."

Urban Partnership hosts Outdoor Eucharist and Picnic
The Urban Partnership hosted an outdoor
Eucharist and picnic at the Garden of Goodness, located in Limerick, Old Louisville (at Seventh and Oak streets) on Saturday, Oct. 14.

Reconciliation Liturgy and Walk retraces history of slavery
 Bishop White celebrated the Holy Eucharist and led the Urban Partnership in a service of Repentance, Reconciliation, and Healing at Christ Church Cathedral on Oct. 3.
From the Cathedral, participants made their way to several Louisville plaques that mark the history of slavery in Louisville.

St. Peter's of the Lakes helps collect 1,000 pounds of caps
St. Peter's of the Lakes, under the leadership of Michelle Lasher, coordinated with youth and friends in the diocese to collect more than 1,160 pounds of plastic bottle caps. The collection efforts are the result of three years of teamwork with people from as far away as Canada. Caps were transformed into a garden bench and trash can holder, and there remain enough caps for
some angels in the memorial garden.

House of Bishops met in Fairbanks, Alaska
More than 125 bishops of the Episcopal Church gathered in Fairbanks, Alaska, to pray, bless the land, visit missions, and discuss the business of the church at the House of Bishops from Sept. 21-26. Hosted by Diocese of Alaska Bishop Mark Lattime, this meeting marked the first time the Episcopal bishops gathered in Alaska for a meeting. Read more here.

The Rev. Donald E. Overton
In the sure and certain hope of the resurrection, we share with you the news of the death of the Rev. Don Overton. Visitation was held at Pearson's Funeral Home in Louisville on Tuesday, Oct. 10. The requiem mass was Wednesday, Oct. 11, at St. Andrew's, Louisville.
Please pray for Don's family as they mourn his death. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
