2017 Budget proposed by Trustees & Council
At their October meeting, Trustees & Council approved the final draft of the 2017 diocesan budget following listening sessions held throughout the diocese in August and September. The budget includes significant new funding for a director at All Saints Center, and $85,000 allocated for mission funding grants in the diocese. T&C articulated several questions to be answered regarding the financial health of All Saints, and looked at the steps needed to bring a director. At the bishop's request, T&C also tasked members with exploring new opportunities for youth ministry. The proposed budget will be published as a part of the advance reports for convention on

Thrills at Haunted Halloween Backyard BBQ
Home of the Innocents
, 1100 E. Main St., is hosting its Haunted Halloween Backyard BBQ from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15. The Home has partnered with local restaurants to prepare a BBQ feast.
There will also be Halloween costume contests, a haunted trick-or-treat trail, games, inflatables, a hayride tour spanning eight acres, a petting zoo and more.

Kentucky Council of Churches to host 69th Annual Assembly at Nazareth Retreat Center
The Kentucky Council of Churches is hosting its 69th Annual Assembly Oct. 20-21 at the
Nazareth Retreat Center, Bardstown. On Oct. 21, there will be a delegate meeting, lunch, devotions, the first keynote speaker, workshops, a banquet and worship service. Events on Oct. 22 include a delegate meeting, the second keynote speaker, panel discussion and benediction. More information is available

This year's registration fee is $100 for both days. The cost is $85 on Thursday, Oct. 20 (includes lunch and banquet) and $55 for Friday, Oct. 21. Episcopalians can live out our call to
care for our neighbors as ourselves by engaging in the public square. This Nov. 8, our nation will head to the polls to decide a number of important elections, and there are many opportunities for Episcopalians to engage in this electoral process. Official Episcopal policy recognizes voting and political participation as acts of Christian stewardship, calling upon congregations to engage in conversation on public policy issues, to develop voter registration and issue education campaigns, and to advocate for
protection of voting rights.
A faithful commitment to political participation aligns with our Baptismal Covenant's promise to "strive for justice and peace and respect the dignity of every human being."
There are several ways you and your congregation can answer the call to faithfully engage in the electoral process.
