ASIST workshop to offer suicide intervention training

Volunteer Disaster Chaplaincy Training at Sewanee Inn
Now scheduled for Aug. 7-9, Sewanee, Tenn., the Beecken Center

St. Thomas, Campbellsville, is worshipping at Campbellsville University during interior demolition and restoration of church facilities due to water damage from a large storm in mid-April.
They remain faithful in ministry and press onward with restoration projects well underway.

Province IV Synod gathers for formation, fellowship and more
 Province IV Synod spent a portion of last week in formation and fellowship with a plenary on the considerations for congregations who are offering support and sanctuary to undocumented immigrants.
Workshops covered food access ministries, education initiatives, HIV/AIDS ministries, racial reconciliation, work of the Care of Creation Task Force and more.

'Heroes' breakfast celebrates Home of the Innocents
 A "Heroes for the Home" breakfast for the benefit of the
Home of the Innocents
took place at Churchill Downs earlier this month. The event celebrated and supported a ministry for children and families with deep Episcopal roots.

On June 10th, five students graduated from the Diocesan School of Ministry. They are: Jim Dale (Christ Church, Bowling Green), Mark Richard (Grace, Hopkinsville), Skip Bentley (St. James, Pewee Valley), Stephanie Taylor-Cross (Christ Church, Elizabethtown), and Pamela Burdine (St. Matthew's, Louisville).

Episcopal Church Foundation announces 2017 Fellows
ECF has named its 2017 Fellows who are recognized as having brought an exciting vision and passion for the future of the Episcopal Church. The five 2017 Fellows are Jennifer Adams-Massmann, Stewart Clem, Ashley Graham-Wilcox, Renee McKenzie-Hayward, and David Peters. Details about each of this year's Fellows are available here.

a living witness, not a slogan

Presiding Bishop Curry said part of the Episcopal Church's vocation is to bear witness to a way of being Christian that actually looks something like Jesus of Nazareth. That way of being Christian is "not complicit with the culture, whatever that culture," he said.
"It is not a way of being Christian that is in the pocket of anybody's political party, left or right or center, but a way of being Christian that dares to follow Jesus, to love the way of Jesus," he said.

Becky Meyer retires after decades with the Diocesan office
Reception in her honor took place at Episcopal Church Home
Becky Meyer, Diocesan Controller, retired from her position following nearly 25 years on the diocesan staff.
Her last day in the office was June 22, with a reception in her honor at the Episcopal Church Home. Bishop White presented the Diocesan Cross as many from around the diocesan community gathered to express thanksgiving for her years of faithful service.

Associate rector called by Christ Church, Bowling Green
Becca Kello has been called to serve as Associate Rector by Christ Church Bowling Green, which includes serving as Chaplain to Western Kentucky University. Becca recently earned her Anglican Studies Diploma from Virginia Theological Seminary and comes to Kentucky from the Diocese of Northwest Texas. Read the full announcement from Christ Church here.
