EYE 2017 brings youths to University of Central Oklahoma

The Episcopal Youth Event welcomed more than 1,300 participants, speakers, and volunteers to the campus of the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond from July 10-14. Five youths and two adults attended from our diocese.

Participants joined the Red Dirt Festival, visited the Oklahoma City Memorial Museum, and gathered on the Outdoor Symbolic Memorial for a prayer service, and more. Like the Episcopal Youth Event Facebook page, and visit here for photos.

Summer Camp concludes for 2017

Central North Carolina Diocese welcomes new bishop

The Rev. Samuel Rodman has been ordained the bishop for the central North Carolina Diocese, which includes, Charlotte, Greensboro, and the Triangle. Rodman, who is married and has two adult daughters, will be based in Raleigh. Read more about his mission here, in a story from The News & Observer.

Zimbabwe hosts Presiding Bishop Michael Curry

Presiding Bishop Michael Curry traveled this month to Zimbabwe to attend the annual Mizeki festival for the martyred 19th-century missionary Bernard Mizeki. He delivered a sermon there to thousands of pilgrims from across Central and Southern Africa. Read more here from the Episcopal News Service's David Paulsen.

Vicky Kaeser named as Controller

Vicky Kaeser has been appointed to fill the position of Controller of the Diocese following Becky Meyer's retirement. The controller oversees all aspects of the diocese's financial life, including day-to-day accounting, monitoring the budget, and preparing for and responding to the annual audit, as well as working directly with congregational and diocesan leadership. 

St. Matthew's seeking parish secretary

Support South Sudan

United Thank Offering internship deadline extended

The deadline for applications has been extended to  Aug. 1  for the 2017-2018   United Thank Offering  internship, which  supports the work of the United Thank Offering in addition to participating in the work of a local ministry.  More information, applications, and instructions are available  here .

Bishop White has been using part of his accrued sabbatical time along with vacation. He will return to the office on Sept. 6. 

Canon Lewis  will return from his vacation on   Aug. 1 .
