Q: Is it acceptable for a Council President also to carry the office of Conference President? 

A: It is not a problem from the Rule and Bylaws. It is, however, not recommended because of the responsibilities that go with each position. Also, when a Council President holds the position of Conference President as well, does he/she get two votes in the Council meeting - one as Conference President and one as Council President? Who represents the Conference in the Council meeting? These should be answered before he/she takes office. This is something that should be addressed by the Council.

P: Una de las Conferencias en mi distrito tenía un fondo fiduciario creado cuando uno de sus miembros falleció y dejó una gran suma de dinero. ¿Dónde debe incluirse la información del fondo fiduciario en el informe anual? ¿Debería tratarse simplemente como otra fuente de ingresos con un saldo inicial y un saldo final?

R: Realmente depende de cómo se establezca el fondo fiduciario. Si la Conferencia es propietaria y la controla, entonces "sí," es como cualquier otra cuenta: refleja el saldo inicial y final y toda la actividad positiva y negativa. Si la Conferencia es solo el beneficiario de su interés, entonces solo refleja los ingresos a medida que los recibe.
