April 11 @ Pioneer Park Centennial Center

HERE. IS. BETTER. follows the journeys of four Veterans as they undergo evidence-based therapies for PTSD.

From former presidential hopeful Jason Kander, who decided to seek treatment during his Kansas City mayoral race, to a

Vietnam War Veteran haunted by events from over 50 years ago to the often overlooked voices of women Veterans, this film gives a unique view of their paths to finding healing. Watch the trailer here to get a glimpse into their stories.

Dinner before the movie will be provided by the Wounded Warrior Project. The film is presented free of charge with support from the Fairbanks Borough Parks and Recreation Department and the Fairbanks Wellness Coalition. A panel discussion hosted by the Steven A Cohen Military Family Clinic at AKBH will follow the movie.

We're turning 50!

Alaska Behavioral Health is turning 50 years old this year! We were established as Anchorage Community Mental Health Services, Inc. (ACMHS) in June 11, 1974 as a private not-for-profit corporation to provide treatment for people with mental illness in the Anchorage area. Since then, we have served tens of thousands of Alaskans experiencing mental health challenges, from chronic serious mental illness to anxiety and depression.

Our goal has been the same throughout: to provide exceptional behavioral healthcare so that Alaskans with mental illness can live and thrive in their communities.

We hope you'll join us at one of our celebrations! Learn more!
