Letter from the President,
Carol Stamm, MD

Greetings everyone!
By now you have heard about how important it is to advise about vaccines. Locally there were some cases of pertussis and measles in 2023. Also importantly now, is the sharp uptick in meningococcal disease among homeless individuals in the metropolitan area shown in grey. The Denver Department of Public Health shared this data from January 1, 2019 through January 31, 2024.

Mid-morning coffee with several "Next Chapter" physicians and the DMS Executive Director in January at Junction Food + Drink in Denver. | |
Are you a physician who is "next chapter" curious?
Do you have an idea for a medical device and want to learn how to do a "side hustle?" Want to press "pause" on practicing and discuss it with other physicians outside your circle? Did you retire and are you looking for volunteer, social, or mentoring opportunities? You can be at any point in your medical career and be "next chapter" curious. Let's eat lunch together in March 2024, date TBD. We want your ideas. RSVP so we have a headcount to info@denvermedsociety.org.
