UC President Michael Drake to Step Down Next Year: University of California President Michael Drake, MD, announced that he will step down from his role at the end of the 2024-2025 academic year after five years leading California’s world-renowned public research university system. Drake was appointed as the 21st president of the University of California in July 2020, a position that became part of a 50-year career in higher education. Learn more »

Celebrating the Life of Ron Goldschmidt: Ron Goldschmidt, MD, beloved UCSF professor of Family Medicine, founding director of the Family Medicine Inpatient Service at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and co-founder of the National Clinician’s Consultation Center, died peacefully last month surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. Over a 50-year career at UCSF, Ron was a consummate family physician clinician, educator and program leader.
