Family Child Care programs are a vital piece of the early education and care sector in Massachusetts. Making up nearly one fifth of the state's licensed child care slots, they also disproportionately support the Commonwealth’s highest need children.

But more than half of Family Child Care providers earn an income that is less than the equivalent of the Massachusetts state minimum wage.

Hilltown Toy & Clothing Drive

Several businesses, schools, and agencies in the Hilltowns are collecting toys and winter clothing to benefit local families through It Take a Village, a small nonprofit based in Huntington, MA. “The number of groups wanting to get involved this year is incredible!” says Lisa Goding, Program Director. The nonprofit manages the Village Closet, a donation center for free baby and children’s clothing, and essential supplies.
