Calling All Angels

Are you currently, or have ever been solely responsible for the care of another human being?
Yes
No
No but I think I will be in the future

Caring for an ill or aging loved one is something that no one can fully prepare you for. In most cases, it is a child or spouse caring for the older adult who needs it. According to the report “Elders Count Nevada” by ADSD, “Most caregivers (83%) reported having the care recipient living in their home, meaning their caregiving role potentially extend to 24 hours a day/7 day a week.” This 24-hour care can be mentally, physically, and emotionally exhausting. Also according to ADSD, “While most respite services focus on a single, annual voucher studies show regular respite breaks are needed to maintain caregiver health and reduce the stress of caregiver burden.” That is why giving a break to a caregiver from their responsibilities can be lifesaving to both them and the person being cared for.
