Austin and his son, Tio, celebrating the completion of his ride in New York City |
Our client,
Austin Twohig, recently completed a solo 4,000 mile journey on his bike to raise awareness of lyme disease and funds for a Bay Area charity dedicated to the fight against lyme disease.
Austin completed his ride in 42 days, with no support vehicles, carrying only what he needed, and depended on the kindness of strangers for a place to sleep along the way. He funded the trip out of his own pocket.
Austin's goal was to raise $20,000, to cover the treatment costs for two children battling lyme disease. He was able to raise just under $6,000 towards his goal. If you'd like to learn more about and see photos of Austin's journey, check him out on Instagram @austinsrideforlyme, or his fundraising page at LymeLight Foundation, here.
Congratulations, Austin!
