We Strive to be the Area Go-To Resource for Design/Build Services and Products
Message from the President
This is the final message I’ll be drafting while serving as President for the Greater Annapolis Design District (GADD), and I’m feeling excited about passing the “baton” over to Robert McKellar (ADU).  Not for the reasons you might be imagining!  It has been and will continue to be my endeavor to help lead the GADD and our Members towards the excellence of which I’m confident we all have collectively and individually.  However, as a GADD steward, I also believe there is a season to effective community leadership.  There comes a time when having a new leader or leadership team is essential to an organization's ongoing success.

While Rob is stepping into the role of President, the GADD is also looking for candidates to fill open positions on the Board of Directors in order to be effectively operational.  We’re seeking steward leaders to serve as Vice President and Treasurer.  If you or someone you know that is a current GADD Member has a knowledge of overseeing financial statements and a desire to support our community by effecting large-scale growth and transformation, please consider volunteering some of your time or providing their information.  The position(s) will be open as of July 1 through June 30.

We’re midway through 2022 (can you believe it?!?), and the GADD has hosted several events that you’ll find highlighted below.  We also have several upcoming events that includes the Summer Kickoff Party (Members Only) at In Home Stone on June 23 and virtual Semi-Annual Member Meeting (Guests Welcome) on August 8.

Lastly, the GADD is observing a 15 year Anniversary this year!  To celebrate with our Members, we are planning an event on October 6 at South River Golf Club.  We invite all Member businesses that had or will have a milestone Anniversary between January 1, 2022 and December 31, 2022, to provide their information to us.  We don’t have all the details planned out yet, but we do know that we’d like to have a shared Anniversary celebration to toast all of our successful years together.

Here I go - I’m officially signing off as President.  Please consider volunteering to serve on the GADD Board of Directors or on one of the Committees.  Believe me, the two-sided rewards are invaluable.  It’s actually a perfect time to step into a leadership role while the GADD is actively rebranding (new logo and expanding our mission).

Until I see you again, which I hope will be soon, take good care and stay on course.  “Instead of passing on choppy waters to the next generation, we should endeavor to leave them a calmer sea.” – Najib Razak

All my best,
Lisa Tullai

Open Board Positions
As of July 1st, we will have Board vacancies for Vice President and Treasurer.

These are vital positions that must be filled as current volunteers have been serving in these roles for numerous years. It is time for someone else to "carry the torch".

They do not require much time (honestly!). Please email if you would be willing to serve in one of these roles.

6 Things You Should Always Do Before Picking Out Paint
If you want to avoid painter's remorse, choosing the right paint requires more than just selecting a paint chip (although that part's important, too). Before you commit, there are a few more factors to take into consideration, such as the light each room in your house receives and how the color looks in both natural and artificial light. Plus, you'll want to measure the space beforehand to know exactly how many gallons to get. If you end up changing your mind, you can always repaint, but whenever you want to get a paint job done right the first time, this is the technique to follow. Here are six things you should do before picking out interior paint.
