Board of Supervisors Meeting

The public is invited to attend the Derry Township Board of Supervisors Meeting on Tuesday,

November 22nd at 7:00 pm. This meeting will be held in person at the Derry Township Administration Building, 600 Clearwater Road, Hershey, PA 17033. The agenda will be available on the website

Derry Township FY2023 Budget

On Tuesday, November 15, 2022, the Board of Supervisors held a public hearing to discuss the annual operating budget for FY2023 and it was presented by Township Manager, Christopher Christman. The proposed FY2023 budget may be reviewed on our website or in person at the Municipal building, located at 600 Clearwater Road, Hershey, PA. To view the FY2023 highlights, click this link.

Derry Township Administration &

Recycling Center Closed - Nov. 24th & 25th

The Derry Township Administration Building and Recycling Center will be closed on Thursday, November 24th, and Friday, November 25th due to the Thanksgiving Holiday. The Township would like to wish everyone a safe and wonderful holiday.

DTMA: Construction Update

Deer Run Stream Restoration Project:

Pre-construction activities have begun for this Chesapeake Bay Pollutant Reduction Plan Project, which is expected to be completed in mid-Spring 2023 and will help reduce sediment loads by over 500,000 pounds per year. Portions of Gelder Park will be used for staging materials and equipment. Construction vehicles will be using the portion of the parking lot

near the basketball court and pavilion.

Mixed Media Make & Take (grades 3+)

Saturday, November 19, 2022, 3:00-3:45 pm


Join Allison Juliana from the Art Association of Harrisburg to explore mixed media. We will create an original artwork using oil pastels and watercolor. (Remember to wear clothes that can get messy!) Register here. (The grades K-3 section is full).

Fused Glass with Kathleen Forney

Saturday, November 26, 2022, 1:00 - 4:00 pm


Fused glass artist and instructor Kathleen Forney will share with students the fundamentals of fusing glass. Students will have a choice of two different designs. Both are designed using transparent glass. The finished design measures 8 x 8 inches and can be displayed on a tabletop or hung on the wall. Christmas plate: $45

The Derry Township Community Center will be CLOSED for the Thanksgiving Holiday, Thursday, November 24, 2022.

Santa's Holiday Swim Fest

Friday, December 9th, doors open at 5:00 pm


Join us for a fun-filled evening with Santa, crafts, and pool games, Friday, December 9th! Parents and kids 10 and under are welcome to join the festivities. We'll do photos and story time with Santa, create holiday crafts and cards for the community and play games in the leisure pool. The cost is $5 for members, $7 for residents, and $9 for non-residents, plus you can bring a book or toy to donate to a local charity. Doors open at 5:00 pm for free play and Santa will arrive at 5:30 pm. Festivities will end at 7:30 pm. Register today, spaces are limited! The Township of Derry Department of Parks and Recreation is currently accepting applications for a Full-Time Aquatic Specialist to provide for the

Aqua Tone & Stretch Class

Join for Aqua Tone & Stretch!


Sundays at 2:45 pm


Come in for an afternoon in the pool to strengthen and tone your body to music! The class begins at 2:45 pm and is in the competition pool. We have water belts and dumbbells for you to use! Aqua classes are $5

for members, $10 for residents, and $12.50 for

non-residents. Hope to see you there!

Adult Beginners Swim Lessons

Sundays at 3:00 pm


The Adult Beginner swim lesson level is designed for participants 18 years and older who have minimal aquatic experience and skills. Participants will learn to be comfortable in the water, to float without support, kick on front and back, and basic water safety skills.

“Jesus the Messiah: The Promise Fulfilled” brings together Derry Church’s Sanctuary Choir, handbells, brass, and soloists in a concert centered on themes found in Isaiah's promise of a peaceable kingdom. This joyful Christmas concert will be presented at 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm Sunday, December 4th in the sanctuary at Derry Presbyterian Church, 248 East Derry Road, Hershey. The 5:00 pm concert will also be
