Denver Illegal Immigrant Cast Outs Arrive Here, Push for Traffic Safety Cameras, President Biden’s Open Border Chaos, and More!

Here are some of the stories we are following this week. Connect with us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for up-to-the-minute news.

  • The Sanctuary City of Denver is giving more sanctuary than it can handle. So, they are kicking the can down the road, and discharging 350 illegal immigrants per week from shelters where they were housed. Where do you think they will go, after being kicked out of Denver shelters?

  • As it turns out, many illegal immigrants are being bused here to Colorado Springs. Families who crossed into this country illegally under President Joe Biden’s open border policy, and were accepted, then rejected by the sanctuary city of Denver, are now arriving here. They are taking taxpayer resources from local citizens, while also straining budgets of organizations like the Salvation Army, and the UC Health hospital system. You can read all about the details we’ve discovered in our latest original article.

  • We are told that the flood of illegal immigrants coming through President Biden’s open border are coming to escape political persecution in their native countries. However, it has long been common knowledge that Mexican drug cartels are involved in human trafficking, and make, by some reports, as much as $14 million per day from escorting illegal immigrants across the border. They even kidnap and hold illegal immigrants for ransom. The illegal migrants are lured by the openness of the border and free handouts, paid for by taxpayers. It is not an exaggeration to say that President Biden’s intentional decision to end President Trump’s “Remain in Mexico” policy, coupled with his intentional abdication of his duty to enforce immigration law, is causing tremendous chaos in US cities, tremendous human misery and death to the illegal immigrants that activists pretend to care about, and making drug cartels rich.

  • Illegal immigrants in Denver are being cited now for standing in the street and cleaning windshields to try to hustle money from drivers.

  • Large numbers of residents turned out in Lakewood for a meeting to discuss the illegal immigrant problems they are experiencing from the “sanctuary city” of Denver kicking illegal immigrants out of their city.

  • Venezuelan illegal immigrants in the Colorado Springs Salvation Army shelter will be eligible to apply for taxpayer-funded housing, which was touted by Mayor Mobolade during his listening tour.

  • Prior to CSPD asking for speed "safety" cameras earlier this month, this footage, showing numerous near-traffic accidents at intersections, was fed to the media. The red-light cameras have been at these Colorado Springs intersections for years and they didn't prevent the near misses. But they do generate revenue. And now, CSPD wants cameras to catch, and fine, speeders, without needing a police officer. Do you think cameras improve safety?

  • In a recent article, we mentioned that there were no consequences to not paying red light or speed camera citations. However, the law changed recently. Now, if you don't pay the fine or respond to the citation, the ticket may become a ding against your credit.

  • Is it the government’s job to force private employers to provide suicide prevention education to their employees? No, it’s not. This won’t stop Colorado democrats in the legislature from pursuing this, however. Ask yourself this: What’s next?

  • In that vein, the Colorado legislature is proposing a bill to micromanage your lawn. They want to eliminate the use of turf grass, in order to conserve water. They are starting with new developments, approved after January 2025. However, we expect this to expand. No word on whether they want to slow down building houses and apartments everywhere to save water.

  • The legislature is also attacking owners of short-term rentals in the state. They want to quadruple the current tax paid on these units. When we say they see you as their ATM, believe it.

  • Speaking of thinking the public exists as a government ATM, 17th House District Representative Regina English, from Colorado Springs, wants to tax you for having a pet. Not only that, she wants to tax you for owning any pet, such as fish or snakes, and also tax you on every single pet you have. Money collected would go toward, of course, building even more government bureaucracy for you to adhere to. This is clearly a naked attempt to steal from people and fund the government, and should not even have been proposed.

  • Remember when Governor Jared Polis appointed a woman who abused animals to the State Veterinary Board? Maybe the state government lacks the moral and intellectual qualifications to micromanage our pet ownership.

  • UPDATE: Citizens were so enraged by the pet tax proposal, Representative English was forced to pull her bill proposal only days after being publicized. Good. Don’t think this has gone away for good, however. It’s likely it will be modified and re-introduced at some point. Also, she claims she was threatened with violence, and called racist names by opponents of her pet tax.

  • It’s possible, if not likely, that the pet tax was widely publicized to distract attention from another monstrosity. Senate Bill 24-084 has been introduced. It gives Professor Phil Weiser, who also happens to be the Attorney General of Colorado, the authority to “prevent mis and dis-information” online. You may remember speech policing in fictional literature like George Orwell’s 1984 and the murderous, horrific realities like the Soviet Union. Well, the Democrats in the legislature want to do this to you now. When they clearly show you what they are, and what they intend, believe them, folks.

  • Ever wonder how fast over the speed limit you can go, without getting pulled over? Well, the Colorado State Patrol has your answer.

  • El Paso County is seeking your input on the planned South Powers Boulevard extension. Let your voice be heard.

  • El Paso County is also initiating a study of groundwater in various aquifers in the region. This is being conducted largely to see if there is enough water for future housing development.

  • The State of Colorado had to call technical support to fix their online checkbook. There was a transparency problem with the tool, which allows the public to track government spending. Thousands of lines of data just happened to be missing. Go figure. These are the folks who want to micromanage your pets and speech.

  • Where is your property tax bill? We are glad you asked. El Paso County Treasurer & Public Trustee Chuck Broerman has stated that electronic delivery of property tax statements will be available to property owners starting February 9, 2024. You will also be able to search for your property tax information here after that date.
