Food Allergy/Special Dietary Needs Form

Does your student have a Food Allergy/Intolerance or Special Dietary needs? New for the 2024/25 school year, we need you to fill out a Special Diet and Food Allergy Accommodation Form for any student that has a food allergy, special diet or needs a food substitution or accommodation within their school lunch. This does not need to be filled out annually, only when/if information changes. This is different from the Allergy Emergency Action Plan.

We do need this filled out EVEN if you have provided this information previously to your school nurse in another way, such as through registration gateway. Please submit this form to either Kelsey Warren or your building clinic nurse.

Check out everything you need to know about this form and some FAQs HERE.

Summer-EBT Information for Food/Nutrition Services

The last few summers the state has offered P-EBT (pandemic-EBT). Starting this summer the state is participating in Summer-EBT (S-EBT). Parents/Guardians of students who qualify for Free or Reduced price meals through school will be awarded one issuance for the whole summer in the amount of $120, $40 for each month of the summer PER CHILD. They will begin processing payments in mid-June and everyone will have their benefits by July 31st.

Households currently receiving SNAP benefits will be issued on the families existing Ohio Direction card. Households not currently receiving SNAP benefits, a new S-EBT card will be mailed for each child eligible to receive S-EBT benefits to the household. IF you believe you qualify and you do not receive the issuance by July 31st, please contact our Food/Nutrition Services Dept. immediately so we can check into this for you.

As a reminder, you can apply for free or reduced price meals for this school year, anytime between now and June 30th if you have not already. Applications for NEXT school year open on July 1st, 2024 and cannot be filled out before this.

CETE Ohio Family Survey

Springboro Schools invites you to participate in this Special Education Family Survey. The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, in partnership with the Ohio State University, has selected Springboro Schools to participate in this year’s survey.

Only the parents or caregivers of a child receiving special education services are eligible to participate. The survey should take about 10 minutes to complete.

You can access the survey via this link: CETE Ohio Family Survey

Additionally, in an effort to receive adequate representation of the perspective of all families, including our minority populations, the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce has provided this VIDEO.

This CETE Ohio Family Survey will be open until May 7, 2024.

Health Services Update

Dear Parents & Guardians,

Our district recently sent communication regarding the measles. Please click here to review the information below and if you have any questions please contact your student’s building Clinic Nurse.

Good Daily at Home Health Checks:

  • If your student is presenting with illness (cold, cough, headaches, body aches, sore throat etc.) or not themselves monitor and contact your primary medical provider if the symptoms do not resolve.
  • Check your child’s temperature. If the temperature is greater than 100 degrees, keep your student home until fever free for 24 hours WITHOUT fever reducing medication. NOTE: Many cold medications have Fever Reducing medication in the ingredients.
  • Do not send your child to school after they have been given fever reducing medications.
  • Don’t forget to notify the school if your student is home ill. If you have questions or concerns contact the Building Clinic Nurse via phone or email.

Return to school guidelines

  • Students must be fever free (without fever reducing medications) for 24 hours
  • Students who are experiencing Vomiting/Diarrhea: It is recommended that the student remain home 24 hours after their last episode of vomiting/diarrhea.
  • If you have a doctor’s note, a diagnosis of illness is helpful to track and monitor illness during the school year.
  • Don’t forget to get the Medical Note for any medical appointments and submit it to the Attendance staff at your students building.

Up to date information

  • Please make sure that your child’s teacher and the school office have current emergency contact numbers at all times. When students are ill and needing to go home, this can become very challenging if we are unable to reach parents/guardians or Emergency Contacts.
  • Please have a plan in place in case your child becomes sick at school.

Nursing services

The district employs a full time clinic nurse at each building. Our Clinic Nurses play an important role in keeping our students healthy and safe.

We appreciate your help and continued support in keeping our students healthy and safe. We wish you a safe and healthy Holiday Season!
