Health Services Update
Dear Parents & Guardians,
Our district recently sent communication regarding the measles. Please click here to review the information below and if you have any questions please contact your student’s building Clinic Nurse.
Good Daily at Home Health Checks:
- If your student is presenting with illness (cold, cough, headaches, body aches, sore throat etc.) or not themselves monitor and contact your primary medical provider if the symptoms do not resolve.
- Check your child’s temperature. If the temperature is greater than 100 degrees, keep your student home until fever free for 24 hours WITHOUT fever reducing medication. NOTE: Many cold medications have Fever Reducing medication in the ingredients.
- Do not send your child to school after they have been given fever reducing medications.
- Don’t forget to notify the school if your student is home ill. If you have questions or concerns contact the Building Clinic Nurse via phone or email.
Return to school guidelines
- Students must be fever free (without fever reducing medications) for 24 hours
- Students who are experiencing Vomiting/Diarrhea: It is recommended that the student remain home 24 hours after their last episode of vomiting/diarrhea.
- If you have a doctor’s note, a diagnosis of illness is helpful to track and monitor illness during the school year.
- Don’t forget to get the Medical Note for any medical appointments and submit it to the Attendance staff at your students building.
Up to date information
- Please make sure that your child’s teacher and the school office have current emergency contact numbers at all times. When students are ill and needing to go home, this can become very challenging if we are unable to reach parents/guardians or Emergency Contacts.
- Please have a plan in place in case your child becomes sick at school.
Nursing services
The district employs a full time clinic nurse at each building. Our Clinic Nurses play an important role in keeping our students healthy and safe.
