6th Grade Scheduling Information
On Thursday Feb. 29 , the Springboro Intermediate music teachers will present the music options your child has to choose from for their 6th grade year. Springboro Intermediate has four different music classes: band, orchestra, choir, and music appreciation. Music is the one class that your child can choose what they want to take during their 6th grade year! All information that will be presented to your child will also be available on the Springboro Intermediate scheduling web page starting on March 2. If your child is interested in playing an instrument in band or orchestra, there will be a 'Try It Night' at Springboro Intermediate on March 4 from 5:30-7pm. Students will be able to try flute, clarinet, trumpet, and trombones. They will also be able to see the violin, viola, cello, and bass. There will be professional musicians there to assist them in trying each instrument and helping them decide which one would be the best fit. Once you and your child have chosen a music course for 6th grade, you will need to complete the Music Selection Google Form (found on the scheduling site) by Friday March 15. In completing this form, you will enter your child's first, second and third music choice. Lastly, mark your calendar now for a 6th grade informational meeting on April 25 at 6:30pm at the High School auditorium. Much of the scheduling process and function of 6th grade will be discussed at that time. However, if you have immediate questions regarding scheduling for 6th grade, or the music selection, please contact Mrs. Sarah Fox, school counselor, for further information and guidance.

Health Services Update
Dear Parents & Guardians:
As we head into Winter Break, we wanted to remind everyone of the health guidelines for students attending school. Our goal is not to keep students from coming to school, but to do our best to keep all students healthy while attending. Coming to school ill is not typically productive for students. We are seeing Influenza A and B, Strep, Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Pneumonia, COVID and many other viral illnesses. Please review the information below and if you have any questions please contact your student’s building Clinic Nurse.
Good Daily at Home Health Checks
- If your student is presenting with illness (cold, cough, headaches, body aches, sore throat etc.) or not themselves monitor and contact your primary medical provider if the symptoms do not resolve.
- Check your child’s temperature. If the temperature is greater than 100 degrees, keep your student home until fever free for 24 hours WITHOUT fever reducing medication. NOTE: Many cold medications have Fever Reducing medication in the ingredients.
- Do not send your child to school after they have been given fever reducing medications.
- Don’t forget to notify the school if your student is home ill. If you have questions or concerns contact the Building Clinic Nurse via phone or email.
Return to school guidelines
- Students must be fever free (without fever reducing medications) for 24 hours
- Students who are experiencing Vomiting/Diarrhea: It is recommended that the student remain home 24 hours after their last episode of vomiting/diarrhea.
- If you have a doctor’s note, a diagnosis of illness is helpful to track and monitor illness during the school year.
- Don’t forget to get the Medical Note for any medical appointments and submit it to the Attendance staff at your students building.
Up to date information
- Please make sure that your child’s teacher and the school office have current emergency contact numbers at all times. When students are ill and needing to go home, this can become very challenging if we are unable to reach parents/guardians or Emergency Contacts.
- Please have a plan in place in case your child becomes sick at school.
Nursing services
The district employs a full time clinic nurse at each building. Our Clinic Nurses play an important role in keeping our students healthy and safe.
Contact information for Student Health Services Staff
We appreciate your help and continued support in keeping our students healthy and safe. We wish you a safe and healthy Holiday Season!
Thanks,
Bronwyn Patterson RN, BSN, CSN
