Chocolate…YES Please!

Have you ever felt a sense of guilt when sneaking a piece of dark chocolate - especially when you are following a fitness/diet routine? Well - What if I told you that by indulging in this rich delight, you could actually be complementing your fitness goals? It’s true! There are health benefits of dark chocolate - and you should incorporate into your active lifestyle. According to the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, dark chocolate is packed with compounds called flavonoids, which are part of a powerful group of antioxidants known to support health. These antioxidants are associated with a lower risk of heart disease.

But it’s not just your heart that reaps the rewards - dark chocolate contains magnesium, which is an essential mineral for muscle function and recovery. After an intense workout, a moderate serving of dark chocolate can contribute to muscle relaxation and aid in the replenishment of lost minerals through sweat. Your mood is also positively affected by eating dark chocolate - ever notice how happy you feel after eating chocolate? Dark chocolate stimulates the production of endorphins, the body’s natural feel-good chemical.

So embrace the bittersweet goodness of dark chocolate…in moderation of course! Experience the joy of eating something decadent that also supports your wellness journey - without the guilt!

Summer is officially here and our pools are in high demand!

Here are a few reminders about the indoor pool use:

The indoor pool is an adult priority pool primarily for those using the pool for exercise purposes. This includes aqua classes, water walking, and lap swimming.

1. Priority is given to any regularly scheduled program or class. We will maintain at least two (2) lap lanes for lap swimming unless noted beforehand.

2. Children are not allowed in the pool during scheduled classes. Exceptions include children participating in club programs such as swimming lessons or adult supervised lap swimming when space is available.

3. An adult (18 years and older) must accompany children and juniors 17 years old and younger at all times in the indoor pool area. Adults must be directly supervising children. Direct supervision is defined as the supervising adult being no more than 15 feet away from the child(ren), actively enforcing Del Norte rules, and that no gates or barriers stand in the way of the supervising adult’s visible and physical path to the swimming child(ren).

Please review our website Pool FAQ's to review more rules and guidelines.
