We are excited to announce the dedication of the DiMaggio Center for Athletics, in honor of our beloved and long-time Athletic Director and Coach, Nick DiMaggio.
It's difficult to put into words the immense impact Coach DiMaggio had on the Tampa Catholic community. Over his 36 years as AD and coach, he led Crusader teams to more than 500 victories, multiple state championships, and district titles. His dedication to athletes was recognized with several prestigious accolades, including Hall of Fame inductions into the Florida Athletic Coaches Association, East Bay High School, Tampa Catholic, and the Tampa Sports Club.
Among his many honors, Coach DiMaggio was twice named FHSAA Track Coach of the Year, awarded the Key to the City of Tampa, celebrated with a "Nick DiMaggio Day" by the City Council, and made an Honorary Deputy by the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. He was also a passionate advocate for women's sports, pushing for greater opportunities at a time when athletic access was largely limited to men.
We are proud to name our athletic complex after this exceptional leader.
