A Year-End Message from the CEO

This has been an exciting year of transformation for Habitat for Humanity San Luis Obispo County. We began construction of nine single-family homes, opened our Paso Robles ReStore, and are looking ahead as we develop new projects that address the critical housing needs in our community.

Our mission is to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through homeownership. I invite you to join us in creating sustainable, long-term solutions right here in SLO County. With your generous support, we are making this vision a reality for families who dream of a safe and decent home to call their own.

Your donation, whether one-time or monthly, is a crucial cornerstone in the foundation for brighter futures. And the best part is, your gift stays local and it will make a significant impact transforming the lives of deserving families.

Your kindness and compassion will resonate through our neighborhoods, offering hope and security to those in need. Your generosity is truly creating lasting change and building a stronger San Luis Obispo County.

With Gratitude,

Nicholas Rasmussen

This year, consider gifting a donation to Habitat for Humanity in lieu of a traditional present. We're offering a convenient online gift guide with customizable gift certificates that celebrate your commitment to safe, affordable housing in SLO County.

Thank You to our Outgoing Board Members

In the new year, two outstanding board members will retire from the Habitat SLO County Board of Directors. We are so thankful for the instrumental roles they have played in guiding our organization during their years of service. Their unwavering dedication to Habitat's mission has been an inspiration to all of us.

Jim Duffy | Board Chair

Jim, President of TEN OVER STUDIO, has served Habitat SLO since 2016 and became Chair in 2020. Under Jim's leadership, we broke ground on the long-awaited Vine Street Residences in Paso Robles, opened two new ReStore locations, tripled the size of our staff, and strengthened local relationships through active partnerships, programs, and projects throughout the county.

Margaret Klevins | Former Secretary

Margaret, SVP Local Market Executive for Bank of America, has served on the Executive Committee and as a member at large for close to a decade. Margaret provided essential guidance as our organization welcomed a new CEO in 2019. Through Bank of America, Margaret championed countless impactful efforts, most notably, the Student Leaders Program, which provides hands-on opportunities for high school students to connect with a non-profit and directly serve the community, while gaining valuable work experience.
