Student Spotlight
Billie Eilish. Travis Scott. Playboy Carti. A$AP Ferg. These names are a few on a long list of those who have recognized visual senior Sam Mazzarino’s artworks. With a following of over 14.6 thousand on his art and clothing company’s Instagram( @reenostus ) in a little under two years, Mazzarino has taken his passion for art and turned it into a profit.

Alumni Spotlight
Jules Mabie is a member of New York City Ballet’s corps de ballet. He was born in West Palm Beach, Florida and began his dance training at the age of 8 at the Academy of Dance, Music & Theatre in West Palm Beach. In 2011, he began training under Chelsea Nasby at Ballet East, formerly Susan Lyle Studio. He also attended Dreyfoos School of the Arts as a dance major. He attended summer programs at the School of American Ballet, NYCB’s official school, in 2015 and 2016, and in 2016 he entered the school as a full-time student for the winter term. In November 2018, he became an apprentice with NYCB. As an apprentice, Mr. Mabie performed a featured role in George Balanchine’s Slaughter on Tenth Avenue. In May 2019, he joined the Company as a member of the Corps de Ballet.

It’s estimated that renowned author James Patterson has sold around 2.3 million copies per title of his 147 novels. Globally, Patterson is known for numbers—he holds the record for most books on the New York Times best-sellers list at a whopping 116, and once published 14 novels in a single year. Yet step onto Dreyfoos’ campus, and suddenly, the set of numbers that define Patterson everywhere else in the world pale in comparison to a new set: 11 million dollars in awarded scholarships, over 300 students aided in the college application process, and 8 consecutive years of funding the annual Prism concert. Alongside his wife, Sue Patterson, dedicated philanthropist and longtime School of the Arts Foundation board member, Mr. Patterson has directly influenced the futures of almost a decade of Dreyfoos graduates.
