Dear Members and Friends,

As I reflect on the College's activities over the past year, the numbers and accomplishments are impressive:
 
  • 38 classes with a total of 525 registrations
  • 8 Food for Thought lunch and lecture presentations
  • 6 engaging Coffee Clash discussions
  • 3 American Democracy lectures in conjunction with the League of Women Voters and the Jesup Library
  • 1 Annual Meeting
  • Bus trip to the Owls Head Transportation Museum and the Farnsworth Museum
  • Upcoming bus trip to the Colby College Museum of Art and the Holocaust and Human Rights Center
  • Member Art Show at the Northeast Harbor Library
  • Screening of Sonic Sea at the Criterion
  • Cabin Fever party at the Dorr Museum of Natural History
  • Fall Octoberfest party at the Somesville Union Meeting House
  • Countless board meetings and committee meetings
 
As we head into the next year send your suggestions and thoughts for new activities and classes, and keep thinking of ideas to celebrate Acadia Senior College's 20 th anniversary.

The (rescheduled) Fall Museum Trip!

Holocaust and Human Rights Center, Augusta
and
Colby College Museum of Art, Waterville

Note: Even if you did not sign up for the trip in November, there is still plenty of room! No-stress travel by bus, wonderful exhibits at both museums, and lunch included!

Join us on a chartered coach bus for a field trip to the Colby College Museum of Art followed by a visit to the Holocaust and Human Rights Center in Augusta.

At Colby we'll tour the " Wíwənikan …the beauty we carry" exhibition of contemporary art of the First Nations people with Julia Gray, Program Manager for the exhibit.

Next we will head to the Holocaust and Human Rights Center in Augusta where we will have lunch, a sandwich and salad buffet provided by the Center.
Shenna Bellows will give us a tour of the main exhibits.

Cost for the trip is $50 per person including transportation, lunch and both museums. We will meet at the Gateway Center in Trenton at 7:45 a.m. and return in the late afternoon. Click here to learn more.

Coffee Clash Returns
The 2020 Coffee Clash schedule is being finalized and will begin on January 10th. Watch for an announcement on the first discussion topic and registration details.

Coffee Clash happens once or twice a month on Friday mornings at 9:00 a.m at Sips in Southwest Harbor.
Next Food For Thought
The next Food for Thought is January 24th at Birch Bay. Duane and Ruth Braun will talk about the Geology of MDI. Details and registration information will be coming in the January newsletter.

Enjoy an overnight getaway at the Schoodic Education and Research Center packed with fun activities, delicious meals, and friends old and new!

ASC Hats and Vests
We have a new supply of ASC ball caps, plus cozy ASC vests in a variety of sizes. The hats are $20 and the vests are $50 - think ahead for the holidays!
