Leadership Summit:
On November 1st and 2nd, Vital Village hosted the 4th annual Leadership Summit where over 120 network members, new & old, came together to Build Wellness through the Power of Advocacy. View photos here! As our 2017 Keynote speaker said:
"A strong community is a safer community across levels. A collective investment in wellness and a shared commitment to it turns a community into an ever present protector of self because it shares the common belief that it deserves and is entitled to better things and then the best of things."
- Ayesha Rodriguez, Director of Family Partnerships at Horizons for Homeless Children

Advocacy Opportunity
What is the Haitian TPS?
TPS is a temporary form of protected status for immigrants who are not able to return to their country due to temporary, extreme conditions. TPS recipients can live and work legally in the United States while not being at risk for detention or deportation.
How does this affect our community?
Many Haitian families are a part of our network and the greater Boston community. Families affected by TPS expiring can face challenges related to their immigration status, which impacts housing, health care, education, and more.
How can you support your fellow Haitian families? Spread resources!

A New Community Tool: Finding Carrots!
|
When faced with the reality that youths in our community are hungry despite Boston's many resources for those dealing with food insecurity, Suzeth Dyer-Dunn identified a dire need for our community: a resource for finding affordable, nutritious food. Read more about Suzeth's story here and explore the mapping resource created by the Vital Village Food Access in response to this issue: Finding Carrots: Food resources and locations in Boston! |
