Recently, I
received another request from Clarissa
Passos at iG, the largest Internet portal
in Brazil. Clarissa requested another quiz to help people celebrate
a
Hassle-Free
Holiday Season. I was delighted when she wrote, "I want you
to know that our test about the Brain Colors is a huge success.
Actually, it's the most viewed page on iG Delas, our women's
webnews portal!"
 Last
week, I received an email from Carla Azevedo, a journalist for
Happy Woman Magazine in Lisbon Portugal. She wrote, "I would like
to publish one quiz for parents to find out the Brain Color of
their children as well as personality, features, and profile. I saw
one on the Brasilian website (iG delas) and I would to do that in
Happy Woman magazine. Can you
do something similar?"
I replied that it would be my pleasure to create a
quiz and include information to help the the parents
understand and appreciate their children's Brain Colors.
I'm looking forward to seeing the latest Brazilian

Mimi Eva's
Butter Cookie Recipe
For the past 43 years, I have made my
Grandmother's butter cookie recipe for my Chanukah Cookies. They
have become a holiday
tradition in our family. Mimi Eva added a
secret ingredient that makes the cookies moist and delicious. I
trust you and your family will enjoy them as much the Glazov Family
does!
Mimi Eva's Butter
Cookies
41/2 C.
Flour sifted
2 tsp. Baking soda
1 C. Sugar
1 Pinch salt
1 tsp. Vanilla
2 Sticks sweet butter
2 Large eggs (3 if small)
2 Tbs. Sour cream... the secret
ingredient
Cream sugar and butter together, add eggs,
vanilla and sour cream. Gradually add flour, soda, salt and mix
until smooth. Refrigerate until dough can be rolled out. Sprinkle
cutting board with flour, roll out to the desired thickness (our
family likes them very thin) and cut into desired shapes according
to the occasion or holiday. I still use Mimi Eva's heart shaped
cookie cutter and the dreidel shape from our sons' childhood.
Sprinkle with a mixture of cinnamon and sugar. Bake at 350 degrees
for 7-8 minutes, depending on how brown and crisp you like your
cookies.
Mimi Eva dictated this recipe to me. She
never had an exact formula because the recipe was in her head and
her hands. She always said, "You can feel the dough and
know when it's right."

Greetings
The
Chanukah celebration offers a message of religious freedom and
rededication in your life.
The Christmas celebration
offers a message of peace on earth and good will towards
others.
No matter what your
religious or cultural observance at this time of year, upholding
those ideals all year long can make our world a safer and healthier
place to live.
A few years ago, Jordan and I felt most
grateful for all the blessings in our life and decided it was no
longer comfortable to purchase and exchange holiday gifts with our
family members, friends and colleagues, except for books and small
gifts for our grandchildren. However, In the spirit of sharing,
we have made a traditional "Holiday Gift" donation to one of my favorite clients,
the Community Crisis Center in Elgin,
Illinois.The Community Crisis Center is one of the oldest
domestic violence shelters in the state of Illinois. Its mission is
to provide Safety, Hope, Advocacy, Respite and Education for those
impacted by crisis and violence in the Fox Valley Region and
Illinois.
With so many adults and children in need of
food, a safe shelter and clothing, please remember those who
are not as fortunate as you.
