Mid-Terms Released Today
Mid-term grades for the 2nd quarter have been released. To access your student's grades, follow these steps:
Go to MyStudentData.com
Enter School ID: 50
Enter Student ID#
Enter Student Birthdate
Enter Password: Chargers
Grades are not visible if financial obligations have not been met.  Contact the office at 790-1676 if you have questions. 
Choral Christmas Concert - Sun., Dec. 15th at 3 pm
Valley Lutheran's annual Choral Christmas Concert is approaching soon! Join us on Sunday, December 15th at 3 pm at St. John Lutheran Church in Amelith (Bay City) for an afternoon of Christmas songs and carols welcoming the Christmas season and our newborn King. Golden Voice, Mixed Chorus, Handbell Choir, and Brass Choir will be performing.
Final Exams: Dec. 18, 19, & 20

Final exams will be held December 18, 19, & 20 beginning each day at 8 am. The first testing period is 8 - 9:30 am, chapel from 9:35 - 9:50 am, and the second testing period from 10 - 11:25 am. Students may come late if they only have a 2nd final or leave early if they only have a 1st final. However, each student is expected to attend chapel either wayStudents with a double course (double math, double science) will take the double final from 11:40 am - 1 pm.

Christmas Break: 12/23/2019 to 1/3/2020
Valley Lutheran will be closed Monday, December 23 through Friday, January 3 for Christmas break.  School will resume Monday, January 6th.

PSAT/NMSQT SCORES
Scores for students who took the PSAT/NMSQT exam in October will be available to Michigan students online Tuesday, December 10th . In order to access your student's score report, you will need to create an account with Collegeboard. If you have already created an account, sign in and look for your score report. Don't forget to link your score to Khan Academy for personalized and targeted SAT practice!

SAGINAW COMMUNITY FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
On Tuesday, November 26th, seniors in Government and Economics were given the opportunity to meet with a representative from the Saginaw Community Foundation and begin their scholarship application . This ONE application can be applied to over 220 scholarships in Saginaw county, and is well worth the time to complete. The deadline is February 15, 2020 and the application is extensive, so don't wait until the last minute!

And while students often have legitimate stressors in their life, they have not always been taught how to handle stress in a healthy manner. Booster Club Fruit Sale Thank You and Pick-Up Info
The Booster Club extends a big thank you to the Valley family of supporters that purchased fruit from our annual fruit sale (or donated $10 instead of purchasing fruit).  Fruit pick-up is Sat., Dec. 7 from 7:30 am - 2 pm. Extra boxes are available if you need more!
Sign-Up to Help - Booster Club Chicken BBQ - Jan. 12
The Booster Club Chicken BBQ is Sunday, January 12 from 11:30 am - 2 pm.  Please visit Valley's sign-up to see how you can donate and/or volunteer. We are also looking for a Thrivent member that would be willing to filling out an action team application for the meal.  If you would be willing to do this, contact Cheri Burk at 989-798-0879. Thank you!
Thrivent Member? Valley Seeks Action Team Cards 
The Booster Club is looking for some assistance in applying for Thrivent Action Team grants that can be used to help offset the cost of supplies purchased for concessions, chicken bbq, and other fundraisers. If you are a Thrivent member and are willing to share your action cards with Valley, please contact the school office. 

In order to apply for the grants, you must be a Thrivent member with online account access. If you haven't logged in online before, you'll need to create an account. This is done with your member id# and a few personal details. Once you are logged in, you can click on the "my thrivent" tab. This drop down menu will have the "Thrivent Action Teams - apply or report" section. 
Faculty/Staff Gifts - Due Fri., Dec. 13
If you are planning to make a monetary donation to the faculty/staff Christmas gift, please send your donation to the office by Dec. 13.

Boar's Head Festival @ Bethlehem Lutheran - Dec. 5, 7, 8
Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 808 Weiss St. Saginaw, MI, is hosting the annual Boar's Head Festival on Thursday, Dec. 5, at 7:30 pm, Saturday, Dec. 7, at 7:30 pm, and at 4 pm Sunday, Dec. 8. Enjoy celebrating the arrival of the Christ-child in a unique way with choirs, orchestras, and people of all ages. Set in Medieval times, the Boar's Head Festival has a musical flair that reminds people of a Renaissance Fair but with a sacred tone. No tickets are required, but we do take a freewill offering.
Living Nativity @ Immanuel Lutheran - Dec. 6, 7, 8
Immanuel Lutheran Church of Frankentrost will host its 23rd annual "Living Nativity - A Journey to Bethlehem," on Friday, December 6th from 7-9 pm, and Saturday & Sunday, December 7th & 8th from 6-8 pm. Experience the sights and sounds of Bethlehem on that blessed night when Jesus Christ was born. This is a free 30 minute outdoor walk, so dress for the weather. Fellowship and refreshments will follow in the school.
