A Reminder to Value and Celebrate Every Day
Dear VOS Family,
I am extremely sad to share that we have lost two iconic members of VOS that were pillars of veterinary orthopedics and long-time members of the VOS. Both David Abdinoor and Randy Boudrieau passed away in the last month. You will remember David as the great friend and fishing buddy of Gretchen Flo. Randy’s legacy of contributions to the VOS and orthopedics is at a level few have ever achieved. Please see the article and links below for more information about David and Randy. These passings are a reminder to all of us to value and celebrate every day, honor those we love, and keep in mind the fragility of our time here on earth when we interact with others and make everyday decisions.

Your VOS Board, Heidi, and the Wolfpack are finalizing plans for VOS 2024 in Lake Tahoe. The abstracts are being reviewed and the program is being assembled. There is still a little time for early-bird registration. Don’t miss out on what will be a fantastic program in a new venue for VOS. There are several board positions available starting in March 2024 for the VOS board. Although it is a lot of work, it is also a lot of fun to be on the board. There are also awesome perks like free registration and a few free meals. Starting in 2024, the open board positions are President elect, Communications Chair, Assistant Program Chair which moves into Program Chair, Awards Chair, and Research Chair. We also have an opening on the Investment Committee which isn’t on the board, but is a great way to help out if you are interested in finance.
