NEW DATES AND NEW TIMES FOR CNA COMMUNITY MEETINGS

The Cordata Neighborhood Association Board has a new schedule for our community meetings in 2023. We will hold our community meetings every other month starting with the January meeting. Additionally, we will start the community meetings at 6:30pm. We will continue to meet you in the meeting room of the Cordata Presbyterrian Church on 400 Meadowbrook Court. Please plan to join us; we will have a few surprises for you.

We Would Love to See You There!

A FEW WORDS ABOUT THE CNA BOARD

The CNA Board members meet the first Tuesday of every month except for the months of July and December. We meet at 2pm in the Foundations Building on the Whatcom Community College campus. The Board meetings are open to all community members and you are all invited.

We share in the responsibility of keeping informed in local and state policies; residentional, business and commercial development; best practices in healthy and sustainable community growth; and the interests, concerns, and needs of the Cordata community.

We are currently a nine member Board, but our by-laws allow up to 15 members. Board membership is a rewarding way to engage with the public and private sectors, to drive and shape growth in Cordata, and to serve the Cordata neighbors. We welcome you to join us. If you're interested, drop in to a Board meeting or send an email to k8mcdonald1016@gmail.com.

There's been several articles and discussions, both locally and globally, about carbon sequestration. The article from the Whatcom Land Trust linked below will answer some questions you may have. What is it? Is it helping? Is is a scam?

Exploring Carbon Sequestration

Several months ago, we invited a police officer to our community meeting to give us all a mini-course on how to navigate roundabouts.

Based on some recent experiences and observations while on my bike or in my car, I thought a little refresher might be warranted. Just saying . . .

. . . and speaking of roundabouts. The five artists who were selected from a list of 30 from all around the world will be presenting their visions for the Horton rondabout on December 1.

More news to follow.

Have you prepared your shelter in place room? Although rare, shelter in place events require us to take refuge indoors, in a room sealed from the outdoor environment, and await directions from emergency management.
