What's NEW!

Seeds for Thought

The day after Thanksgiving I received my favorite seed catalog. Oh the joy of seed catalogs! To me, they mark new beginnings, new explorations, and a chance to pass long Vermont winter nights dreaming about and planning next year’s garden..

As you know, we are dreaming about and planning for 2022 at the state office too! When I come on board in January, we will have a unique opportunity to step back and reflect on EMG and our other programs – What’s working really well? How can we best serve our volunteers? Do we need to make any improvements? Should we be thinking about any additions or expansions? What is our collective vision to continue our thriving program that has a strong presence in all corners of Vermont?

I look forward to joining you all -- our topnotch staff, Lisa, Ann, Cindy and Debby, and valued volunteers as well as our wonderful instructors and partners to explore these questions. If you have any “seeds for thought” now and into the new year, I invite you to pop them into our anonymous online Suggestion Box at: https://go.uvm.edu/emgsuggestionbox or email me at debra.heleba@uvm.edu

Together, we will ensure that EMG and UVM Extension’s Community Horticulture Programs not only continue to be the high quality and highly regarded programs they are throughout the state, but also to make sure they are safe, productive, fulfilling and fun for all!

Best wishes for happy holidays and see you in 2022!!
