BIANYS HOSTS ITS ANNUAL MEETING - DECEMBER 1st - Online
Thank you to all of our members, speakers, and guests for helping to make our Annual Conference and Meeting a success! We heard from some of the top lobbyists in the startup innovation ecosystem, Brad Tusk from Tusk Ventures, and Victoria Houde from Schmidt Futures, on how best to advocate for startups and the innovation ecosystem at the federal, state, and local levels of government.
We had a Q&A session between our former Executive Director, David Hochman and Dr. Sarfraz Mian (PhD in Incubation) on Dr. Mian's new "Handbook of Research on Business and Technology Incubation and Acceleration."
Our last segment prior to the official business meeting was a Hotspot roundup, where participants were given an overview of all of the latest developments within the innovation community for each of the 10 economic development regions within New York State.
At the official business meeting, members received the Annual Report on BIANYS, our membership, our finances, etc. Members voted on a modest dues increase, the first increase in over ten years. We look forward to holding our next annual meeting in person, in New York City,
in June 2022.
