Greetings
I am pleased to again represent Ward 3 residents as their Regional Councillor for what I believe will be an exciting and productive term of council. We are prepared for the challenges and opportunities ahead. There are several significant projects underway and to come; I have noted a couple below.

As my family celebrates Christmas, I wish you and your family the best of the season according to the faith and traditions of your family. I also hope the New Year brings you special moments, joy, and prosperity.
Update on Durham Live
Building permits have been issued for the Durham Live Casino.  Earth works have already started and footings are in place to support the foundation. I recently visited the Durham Live site to see construction work underway. Should all the foundation work be completed prior to winter's deep freeze, Toronto One Gaming is looking to have the casino operational in approximately a year's time.

Lakeridge Health to build new Health & Wellness Centre in Pickering
Lakeridge Health is in the final stages of evaluating an RFP for a partner to build, finance, and maintain a four-storey ambulatory centre on Brock Road in Pickering.  This new health care facility will provide new and expanded services in the community with no capital costs for the government.

The North Pickering Health and Wellness Centre will include hospital services along with primary care, urgent care and complementary health care services to serve the growing North Pickering community. We are working with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and we are on track with our project timelines. Based on current timelines for approvals, we are targeting ground breaking in Spring 2019.
Out and About
Councillor Butt and I were pleased to help welcome Santa Claus to Pickering on November 24th.

My congratulations to Maviva Spa and Massage Therapy on their one-year anniversary.
I was honoured to represent the City of Pickering along with the mayor and fellow councillors as we held a flag raising in November recognizing Hindu Heritage Month.
