Good Afternoon St. Stephen Families,

I hope everyone enjoyed the Thanksgiving break. Two more weeks and we will be off again! There is much happening before we leave for Christmas so be sure to read all of Tidbits.

Tomorrow students will be participating in our annual Advent Retreat. The theme this year is "What are you waiting for?" Advent is a time of waiting. We remember how the people of the Old Testament waited for the Savior to arrive and today we wait for Jesus to come again in glory. Please remember us all in your prayers tomorrow as we reflect on this time of waiting.

For those families who have chosen not to opt out of the mask mandate, please remember to send your child to school with at least two masks. We are having to provide an average of 10 masks daily to students whose masks have broken or they forgot their masks. We will not be able to continue to do this all year. You might consider sending in a box of disposable masks with your child's name on it for them to keep in their locker, or consider donating a box to the school. We are particularly in need of children's masks. If you do not want your child to wear a mask, please remember to complete the opt-out form. If you need that sent to you again, please contact the office.

Peace,

Linda Umoh

The Gingerbread Holiday Shop

The PTCO has been working hard to keep our tradition of a Christmas gift shopping experience for the students. The Gingerbread Holiday Shop will be open next week December 6-10 for students to shop for family and friends.

New this year, parents will have the option to pay for their child(ren)’s shopping through FACTS. A budget envelope will be sent home this week, so parents may help students decide whom to purchase gifts for and how much to spend. Only students who return the budget envelope to school will be allowed to shop.  Please return it on or before his/her class's shopping day. See the class shopping schedule in the link below for more information and it will also be sent home. PLEASE DO NOT SEND MONEY BACK IN THE ENVELOPE. Payment will be collected either via FACTS or check made out to PTCO SSCS after your child's shopping day.

Thank you for your support of this fun Christmas tradition for our students! And thank you to all who volunteered to help with Gingerbread Holiday Shop next week!

If you have any questions, please contact Mary Cloete at marycloete@yahoo.com or Nicki Gallagher in the school office.
MUSTANG SPORTS
The start of the girl's flag football game schedule has been delayed a week. One game this week was canceled and the other was rescheduled to later in the season. So, the girls got another week of practice to prepare for their first games next week. The Mustangs play Tuesday against Corpus Christi and Thursday against local rival Nativity. Both games are here at St Stephen at 4:00.

The boy's track team has their first meet Friday and Saturday.  The field events are tomorrow at Christ the King at 3:45. The Mustangs will be competing in the discus, shot put, long jump, and high jump. The running and relay meet is Saturday at Jesuit High School from 1:30-5:00. Results will be posted in next week's sports.

Public Library Haal Pass
The Haal Pass allows our students to access public library resources with just their student ID number and Pin. Students will use their student ID number (from FACTS) and their password of 4321 to log into the HCPLC.org site. This allows them to check out physical copies of books as well as digital books, audiobooks, and any other materials available from the public library. Students can also use this account to check out ebooks on Overdrive or Libby, the digital reader programs used by the public library.
