Dear Holy Name Families,

We can't thank the Holy Name community enough. On Giving Tuesday, Holy Name raised almost $19,000 to support our school and its mission. Additional gifts are arriving in the mail each day which are adding to our total. Thank you for your generosity and your belief in Holy Name.

Our Holy Name basketball season begins this afternoon. We are looking forward to another successful season. Thank you to Matt Mahoney, the basketball commissioner, and the parents who volunteered to coach. We wouldn't have Holy Name basketball without you.

As we move into winter, I'd also like to thank Fr. Denis for sponsoring this fall's volleyball club. Forty 4th to 6th graders participated and had a great time learning the skills and rules of the game. It was a great addition to our after school offerings.

We have many events upcoming before Christmas break The 5th grade will host a mass next Friday for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. We are looking forward to next week's Santa's Workshop and Christmas Marketplace. Our Tree Lighting and Prayer Service will be held next Thursday at 6 pm during the Marketplace.

Holy Name's Christmas Nativity and Show will be held on Tuesday, December 19 from 9 am to 11 am in Parish Hall. Parents and families are invited to attend.

Announcements and Reminders

• During Advent students in grades 3 to 6 will have the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Confession. Students in grades 3 and 4 will receive the sacrament on Monday. Students in grades 5 and 6 will receive the sacrament on Monday, December 11th.
• Home and School is looking for volunteers for next week's Santa's Workshop. Click here for more info.

• Registration is open for the winter session of Rose Debate. This public speaking club is open to students in grades 3 through 6. Click here for more information.

Christmas Tree Lighting and Prayer Service

We are thankful to Allandale Farm for donating our Christmas trees again this year. In the coming days, students will decorate the trees. Next Thursday during the Christmas Marketplace, HNPS will host a student-led prayer service and tree lighting. The prayer service and tree lighting will begin at 6:00 pm.

Winter Dress Code

As a reminder, winter dress code is in effect. With the arrival of cold weather, please take a moment to review the dress code with acceptable items: quarter zips, leggings, etc. Even in cold weather, children still go outside for recess on most days. Students should be sent to school with appropriate clothing for outdoors: winter coats, hats, gloves.

Volunteers Needed: Holiday Marketplace December 7th!



We are so excited about our upcoming Holiday Marketplace & Tree Lighting. This is a fun holiday event with local vendors, festive kids’ activities, yummy snacks, Santa Claus, and a community tree lighting!  We will need lots of volunteers for this event, especially for the Kids Crafts area and from 6-8 PM.  If you are available to volunteer, sign up here.  

Santa’s Workshop- December 7th and 8th!

Santa’s Workshop is a great event that gives students the opportunity to purchase their own special Christmas gifts for family and friends in an atmosphere that is comfortable and friendly. This event occurs during the school day and really gets the children into the Christmas spirit while they thoughtfully choose their presents.  More details were sent home in backpacks this week or can be found here.  



We will need lots of volunteers for this event.  If you can volunteer, sign up here.  The volunteer sign up includes a note on what classes are shopping at each time for your reference.
